oh no!!!! Pirates hasn't lived it's time yet! Alien is a classic. As much as I love Pirates, this would definitely be OVERKILL for me.
I just read on another site a guy had talked with a CM and the CM said TGMR was to undergo a refurb and the Alien scene was going to be replaced by a scene from Pirates of the Carribean!

I agree.Pirates is a new movie, while Aliens has been around forever. It is a spectacular movie.Plus,Pirates is already at the MK they don't need any more of it in the other parks.

I am still a proud pod person
Keep on babbeling
NOOO!! they can't do that...this just ruined my day. Whenever i get ot that part i always cover my ears..bc i get scared..and i wanted to, for once, be able to stare the alien right in eyes, instead of looking back and seeing it go down for the car behind us..aww man..
Is this a definite thing or just a suggestion that somebody heard??!!
He won't win the MVP or be voted into the Hall of Fame........then again, some heroes don't play games.

I also think that it is overkill. THEY JUST RE-DID POTC RIDE!! We do not need ANYMORE pirates of the carribean! I am very very upset with Disney's choice. Sure POTC(movie) was good but i truly believe that the second one was not as nearly good as the first one..

Wow, what a horrible and disappointing idea, the alien section was the only reason i would go on the ride!
Ayhab the Arab
It's amazing to think that this all started with one little mouse.
well shoot, why not just replace John Wayne with Stitch while we're at it?
All the people will look up and shout: "Save us!" and I'll whisper...'no'.
Who watches the watchmen?

Enough with the Pirate stuff! I hope this isn't true either!
Well, I can't say I'd be sad to see the Alien part gone. That is the only reason I wouldn't want to take my young daughter on it. (Actually, it even freaks me out!) : ) Otherwise I think she'd really love the part from Wizard of Oz and the movie footage.
How about Titanic?
"The Immortal Captain Jack Sparrow." It has such a lovely ring to it...-Captain Jack Sparrow![]()

I like the alien part! Although it does scare me everytime i go through it. I do love pirates though, but is it really necessary to have a pirates of the caribbean ride in the magic kingdom and a pirates section in the great movie ride? it's kind of overkill
Hmmm . . . I agree with the people who fear an over abundance of Pirates stuff, but have you ridden The Great Movie Ride lately? I was on it in May, and seriously, it was in terrible shape. It really lacked the Disney magic, the CM's were unenthusiastic at best, and everything seemed dated. Anything to perk this ride up is fine with me. How can creative minds as amazing as Disney's take a subject with as much fantastic material as the history of film, and present a ride that is as uninspiring as this? There are a few good scenes, but it could use some love. AND like it or not, Pirates grossed over $300 million, so it was obviously one of the most popular movies in recent memory.
