According to Disneyworld.com: El Rio del Tiempo will be closed for refurbishment Jan 2, 2007 - April 1st, 2007. Is this forr the much rumored overlay of the Three Caballeros? Only time will tell, but from what I am hearing, YES!!!!!

I Don't Really Care For That Ride Anyway. It Could Be Much Better And Longer. Right Now It's Just An Adverstisement For Mexico.
Y'know I always sort of enjoyed this ride... silly as it may sound. It was a great way to wind down because by the time I had reached Mexico every day I had already completely did FutureWorld and was exhausted.
I would LOVE the rumors on the Three Caballeros to be true... but, and this is just me, I have my doubts. I have a hard time seeing the execs at WDW deciding to put money into a refurb themed with it... it's too "old".
Now... if it returns with a re-release of the "movie" to DVD or some big hoorah... that is definitely Disneyesque. LOL!
I love El Rio del Tiempo, lol I am obsessed with the song they play in it. I just hope that if or when they put the three caballeros in it that the song will remain the same, or i will be upset.
I don't know much about if the song is staying, but, the animation of the Three caballeros is supposedly being worked on as we speak. The overlay will include screens for the animation and a possible updated ending, but not sure about that. I guess we will just have to wait.
Hmmm, maybe you didn't get the full meaning. Understanding the culture and traditions. And the beautiful scenery. Its a really great ride. Its not very..hmm lets see..energizing meaning drop wise..but it is a really great ride.(in my oppinion) Just next time you go on it, try to pay attention, you could learn a lot. try to be open!
i love el rio del tiempo. its so nice to relax on after a long day. imwouldnt minda a little update, but im excited to see what the future will bring.
I love El Rio , it's really cute if you ask me .
wow----missed this one. Never ridden it, but my 5 year ols will LOVE it if the "Three Caballeros" are in it! My mom found that movie for her @ a yard sale, she LOVES IT! Watches it over & over & over & over &over......well you get the picture!!!
I could care less.
It's a good little ride to relax on, and I don't know if this will be the overlay or not. I thought that the countries had to put up money to update their pavilions, and I thought Mexico was being cheap, but I don't remember.
MayBWeRMnt2B, where did you go to college? UCF? How long have you been out? Congratulations on your engagement! Do you live in Celebration? My wife and I are contemplating a move to Florida permanently starting in July or August and Celebration is our target!
Speaking of the Mexico ride (El Rio del Tiempo) - I am a fan. I really enjoy it, I think it is beautiful and the interior of the Mexico pavillion is one of the most serenely beautiful spots in Epcot. Some updating to some of the videos wouldn't hurt and a more 'Disney' them is always a possibility - but the rides and attractions at World Showcase weren't supposed to feature Disney so much as they were to showcase the nations involved. That is why it feels like a commercial for Mexico - it's supposed to!
I also like El Rio del Tiempo. Maybe it needs a little upgrade but keep the same idea. It is a very relaxing little ride. When it's hot and humid out, and you've been walking all day, it's a great place to cool down. I love how the Mexican pavilion looks when you first walk in. Looks so real.
