I'm seeing shows in the Sydney Opera House, an animatronic camel tour through the Egyptian dessert (ok, a bit of a stretch... but didn't the imagineers first laugh at a bobsled ride through the Matterhorn in California?), and a fabulous Brazilian rodizio restaurant... (yes, it all comes down to food eventually...)

Ireland SHOULD be part of the UK pavillion. I think Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland get a bit of a raw deal sometimes, as most of the stuff in the UK pavillion is representative of England.

Personally I would like to see Spain, Greece or Australia as new pavillions.

That's a good idea! Add some green & Irish flair there... good thought!

I actually started looking at Google Maps to see what Disney might be able to do if they ever thought of expanding the World Showcase to include other countries... it's a little tough to do a big expansion, as I never realized how little space remains around Epcot

I know they generally tend to not want countries to be directly next to each other to reserve the "effect" of being in another country, but I'm thinking there might be space for another country between China & Germany... in fact, I looked into this more and realized this is where Disney originally intended on putting an Africa pavillion... well, they've got Africa well covered in AK now, but one part of Africa missing might be Egypt... quite an in How would you like to hop from China to Egypt to Germany? I think that would be mighty fine diversity!

...and another thought I had was if they took over the old Oddysey building (which is basically vacant any time I've past it the last few years), and filled in a small amount of the lake in front of it, they could probably fit another country in there which you'd be able to approach on that side of the WS before getting to Mexico. Perhaps the missing continent of Australia? Think about the Sydney Opera House even appearing over that water there! Wouldn't that be perfect?

And these would be great new sites that wouldn't really disturb vacationers, other than perhaps seeing some construction walls up... we wouldn't have to say good-bye to any older, much loved attractions, and it would probably draw more crowds to check out some new stuff!

My first thought was to add Red Sox Nation!

But if that can't be done, I was thinking of lesser represented countries, like United Arab Emirates or Vietnam.

UAE, with Dubai, is quickly becoming a huge tourist spot. While lacking historic monuments, it's modern buildings really are modern marvels. Plus, they built a residential/commercial development on the water that looks like a palm tree! Check that out on Google Maps. It's pretty crazy!

As for Vietnam, it is so culture rich, and obviously the United States has a checkered history with the country. Maybe it's time to bring in their culture and history and we can start cultivating some more positive aspects to take away.

Or we could just add Red Sox Nation. It would be BEAUTIFUL!

This is a huge unrepresented culture at Walt Disney World. The food, the dance, the music, the architecture. This would be an awesome pavilion.

The architecture: think Taj Mahal, a beautiful palace, a street bizarre with small shops, Hindu statues and shrines.

The performances: An Indian dance troop with live Tabla drums in the courtyard. Live Sitar and Tabla music inside the restaurant.

The food: Tandoori Chicken, Kofta Curry, flat breads, ....

And for Lou ... one word ... Samosa!

With the Matterhorn popping up today, I went looking for this thread. I look at this question by continent.

Europe - UK, France, Germany, Norway, Italy
North America - American, Canada, Mexico
Asia - China, Japan
Africa - Morocco

4 of 7 continents are represented?

Now I do not want to see an Antarctica pavilion!

But nothing from Australia or South America????

I would say the political climate in most of South America would make that difficult.

So that leaves Australia. The Sydney Opera House, Great Barrier Reef, etc.... There are some really cool things they could do!

UK is England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland..
However I think Republic of Ireland should have their own pavillion considering the face our neighbours got one to themselves and I don't think Ireland should be bunged in as part of the UK pavillion we're not the same country.

As for what they could do they could have like make shift Molly Malone statue maybe St. Stephen's Green replica or something of the sort and of course some sort of pub serving traditional Irish food with a traditional music show and Irish dancing shows! Ha they could have like Ceili's and teach guests how to do the dances that would be fun!
