Lou's Daily Disney Diary - March 19, 2009

So I'm trying something new on this trip, and I thought I'd take some brief video during my time in and around the parks, just trying to share a little bit more of the magic with you at home.

So yesterday, March 19, I recorded my first "Daily Disney Diary" from Walt Disney World, where I take you through the Magic Kingdom, aboard the TTA, and ask you to weigh in on one of your Disney World traditions.

What do you or your family do first when you get to Walt Disney World? Do you have any traditions you like to follow, do you go to a certain park or attraction first?

You mentioned TTA was going down. What is happening to it? Refurb?

That was a great first daily diary! Congrats. Keep 'em coming.

I'm keeping posted today for "Where are you in the Walt Disney World?".

As for traditions, we really dont have something we must do as soon as we get to WDW, but, whenever we first get to the Magic Kingdom, we usually ride the Haunted Mansion first

As far as traditions we usually start in the Magic Kingdom moving left to right meaning Adventureland ending in Tomororwland.

My family tradition is to go to the Magic Kingdom on our first night and have dinner at The Plaza, ride the TTA and PotC and top the night off with Wishes on Main Street.

The only time we didn't do this is when my dad and I went last September, we went to Studios to see 4 for a dollar on their last day and ride Toy Story Mania.

Our first day we always get our luggage to the resort and go straight to Magic Kingdom. Then at about 2pm we call the resort and see if our room is ready and we go back and rest until dinner time and then we go to downtown Disney and eat at the Rainforest Cafe!

Wow! Lou are very good at walking and holding a camera pointed toward yourself AND still look at the camera. I'd run over some poor unsuspecting tourist.

The TTA has to close while they do part of the work on Space Mountain.

Loved the video, Lou you seriously need to consider doing a video guide. You made my day, you went on one of my all time favorite rides and captured my favorite parade! Thanks!! ........loved those looks you getting from people

Loved the video. We don't really have that first day "must do" tradition, but recently have started our first night at Beaches and Cream with a Kitchen Sink. I never thought of going there until I heard you describe it on a podcast.

What an awesome idea, Lou!! I love the Daily Disney Diary and look forward to seeing more!

As far as what I do when I first get to the parks...we usually stay at an Epcot hotel, so Epcot is our first stop....and our first ride is always one of my favorite classics - Spaceship Earth!!

Our tradition is checking in at the hotel and going directly to the Magic Kingdom. We have a just turned 6-year-old, so we always stop to get his new set of Mickey Ears with his name on it. We're not sure how much longer he'll keeping wearing those!

Mickey's Philharmagic is our first stop. It just makes us feel like we're finally at the Happiest Place on Earth.
