Florida Welcome Meet for the Mongello's!

I was just thinking that April's meet would be a great opportunity for local central Floridians to act as hosts to welcome Lou and his family to the Sunishine State! I will be moving back to Florida this weekend (just finished my congressional externship in DC) and would be happy to help organize a meet.

Lou, would this be feasible?

I like the idea and will try to take part. From what Lou said on his podcast this week, I'm thinking that his time will be very limited until after he really gets settled. But, hey...a welcome party can be whenever!

Wow! What a nice surprise! Thanks for offering to try and do something like this.

As of now, I'm scheduled to make "the move" next week, so I don't know if/when I will get to WDW in April at this time (you can imagine how crazy things are right now).

I will try my very best to get there on one of the last two weekends, but I probably won't know if I can pull it off for at least a few days.

I hate to keep this "in limbo" but wouldn't want to commit to something I can't say for 1000% sure I can attend.

I'll keep in touch, but no matter what, I WILL be there the weekend of May 1 for the Studios' 20th anniversary, and will be having a meet probably that Saturday or Sunday, so worse case scenario, maybe then?

Take your time Lou. I know its hard to move, even thought I only moved two blocks, your moving states. I hopefully will see you when my family is down at the end of April but I'll try not to be to heartbroken if we dont. Take care!

That's perfectly understandable. It should be convenient for Lou, seeing that he'd be the guest of honor! In the meantime, we could at least keep it in the back of our minds that a "state"-warming party is in order. Besides, he's not just moving to a new state; he's coming down South! Let's show him and his whole family that hospitality that is our legacy. (hmm, maybe a meet at Dixie Landings?)

How about at a mall in Lou's new city? I think it is Fort Myers? I would think that there is a mall near him. Then he wouldn't have to travel far during this busy time for him.

Wow Lou, I think you are the only person moving to Florida these days. Haven't the housing price drop been some of the worst in the country there? Hope your getting a good deal and enjoy not having to pay state tax!
