WDW Radio Show Disney Podcast #114 - April 12, 2009

Hello my friends and welcome to The WDW Radio Show - Your Walt Disney World Information Station. This is show #114 for the week of April 12, 2009 and I am your host, Lou Mongello. Thank you for tuning in again this week.

We’ll start off with News from around Walt Disney World, and much of it involves some changes to as well as new dining opportunities, as well as new Guest experiences in Downtown Disney, and even a few rumors about what might be coming back to the Magic Kingdom.

I’m proud this week to bring you an exclusive interview with an author who brings a new perspective to Walt Disney World in his series of books, where he takes you on a fictional adventure through the parks after all the Guests have left. He is New York Times bestselling author of both the Kingdom Keepers and Peter and the Starcatchers series, Ridley Pearson. We’ll discuss the first two books in the Kingdom Keepers series and how they came to be as well as what may be coming next in the series. We also discuss his work with Dave Barry on the Peter and the Starcatchers titles, which explores the world of Peter Pan before the J.M. Barrie novel and Disney animated film.

I’ll play some of your voicemails at the end of the show, so sit back, relax, and enjoy this week's episode of the WDW Radio Show.

You can email the show at lou@wdwradio.com or call the voicemail TOLL FREE at 888-703-2171.

Thanks for listening! Be sure to tune in next week!

Thanks, Lou! Can't wait to listen today while I'm at work.

Glad to hear you're officially a Floridian! I'm just a little jealous

Great show, Lou! Your discussion with Ridley Pearson I enjoyed listening to quite a lot. I have yet to read the Kingdom Keepers books, but I definitely should very soon. Thanks for another informational and entertaining interview! As always, great show Lou! I hope you had a Happy Easter, and I'm happy you survived the move! Keep up the great work!

Thumbs up Re: WDW Radio Show Disney Podcast #114 - April 12, 2009

I did not know about these books. I just purchased the Peter and the Starcatchers audio book. Thanks for bringing us that great interview.

Lou AWESOME interview with Ridley.. To those who love Disney and haven't read KK series, your missing alot and you'll never look again at the parks the same without thinking about those books. It totally enhances Disney.
Hey Lou I sent you a email awile back about Peter and the Star Catchers. If you liked KK wait till you find out why Peter can fly and why he doesn't grow old. I know you have to be mega busy right now so it have to wait.
Just wanted to say great job.

Your conversation with Ridley was fantastic. I am so jealous of him now, I cant believe he got to see all that behind the scenes stuff. I'm also excited for Kingdom Keepers 3, and i am so happy its at EPCOT. Great Show

Re: WDW Radio Show Disney Podcast #114 - April 12, 2009

The interview with Ridley Pearson was so interesting. I had heard of the books but I really didn't know what they were about. After hearing the show I immediately got both books and am reading book 1 now! Thanks Lou for introducing these books to me! I have always thought how great it would be to be able to stay at the parks after closing just to see what goes on. Pearson should make a book about Podcasters and us adult Disney Geeks getting stuck at the parks after closing, can you imagine............

Lou, great show as always. I am also very jealous of your new residence. Michigan isn't quite warm enough for me

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between Peter and the Starcatchers and the Neverland series? I went on Ridley Pearson's website and they both sound like they have to do with Peter Pan. Thanks for the info!

The Neverland series is centered more around the Lost Boys then Pan. The Neverland series books also are shorter.
