Very Good show. If you want more of The Studios, check out the Enhanced DSI from awhile back that Lou and Matt Hochberg collaborated on. It's in the downloads section.

Re: WDW Radio Show Disney Podcast #117 - May 3, 2009

I think Jim Korkis used to have a small column in Disney Magazines and Insiders..
You've got to love how much he loves what goes into the park and the blatant admission of Rock and Roller Coaster and the Sorcerer's Hat sort of "ruining" the story. I do love Rock N Roller Coaster, but I have never been a fan of the big hat (much as I hated the Epcot Mickey hand).
I'm sure Lou will incorporate what he learned from Jim K and others into his video podcast stuff.
Lou- I have also listened to many other podcasts and yours is by far the best and most professional. Most others end up all opinion, laughing and rants while yours is truly informative and passionate.
Thanks!

I agree with everyone else here, that was an amazing episode! For me, that is your best show to date, and that is saying something because you've had some great ones!

Lou - I just want to echo the other posts in this thread and say that podcast was one for the ages. I couldn't get enough of all the details and history behind the Studios. I've listened to it twice already. Keep up the great work!

Excellent show Lou. This one's a long-time keeper! I guess you don't need to do an audio guide to Hollywood Studios anymore. You and Jim covered it all!! (Yah, right!).

Thumbs up Re: WDW Radio Show Disney Podcast #117 - May 3, 2009

The 2 hour length put me off of listening to this episode for awhile, but it's definitely a keeper. I want to listen to it several more times so I can astound friends and family with my knowledge of the history and background of Disney Hollywood Studios. Without the history of Hollywood, one just doesn't grasp the importance of the details that are all around you as you tour the park. Great podcast!

Lou,

I have to admit that the Hollywood Studios is my least favorite park, but I really really enjoyed this week's show. I really hope you decide to do this with Epcot, Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom. It was amazing. Keep up the great work!

Re: WDW Radio Show Disney Podcast #117 - May 3, 2009

Lou, I really think you and Jim outdid yourselves with this week's podcast. I could have listened for 2 more hours! You all did an amazing job of transporting us listeners right to the park.

We will be heading down to WDW in October, and I have been granted one day on my own sans children or spouse to do anything I want. I am now really leaning towards spending the day at the studios on my own to take in everything. I have not given this park much time in the past, but I'm thinking that is about to change!

Thanks again for an amazing episode, what a treat!

Re: WDW Radio Show Disney Podcast #117 - May 3, 2009

I just had to come here to say how much I loved this particular show! I had no idea all of that stuff was at MGM (dang, I meant DHS). I was blown away by the story about the birth of the Cobb salad (very funny stuff!), and the truth behind Gertie the Dinosaur, (I saw this "toon" on a documentary called "The Hand Behind the Mouse: The Ub Iwerks Story - excellent; a must see!) and my new fave prop - Holly Vermont Realty (hope that's spelled right). I probably need to stop here, but can someone tell me the message of the flags on Min & Bills and Typhoon Lagoon?

P.S. - Hi Josh from voicemail!

P.P.S. - Love living vicariously through the Video Diary Thank-you!

Really awesome job this week, Lou! Your virtual tour of Disney's Hollywood Studios with Jim Korkis was just amazing to listen to, and again continues that retrospective feeling with the 20th Anniversary just happening. The 'Studios is so rich in detail, that I hate to see most of it ignored by most other guests. This definitely shed more light onto it! Congratulations to the contest winner! Keep up the great work, Lou!
