Hey Lou!
Just wanted to say thanks for having Jim Korkis on! Last time we heard from him was in October, and he truly is a fountain of knowledge. Hopefully he'll be back on the show again soon!
Thanks!
Hello my friends and welcome to The WDW Radio Show - Your Walt Disney World Information Station. I am your host, Lou Mongello and this is show #117 for the week of May 3, 2009. Thank you for tuning in once again.
This week marks the 20th Anniversary of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and to commemorate this event, I’m going to dedicate this entire show, and in fact just a single segment, to Walt Disney World’s third park. Disney historian and author Jim Korkis joins me at the Studios to take a detailed walk through the park, looking at its history, stories, incredible details and tributes and so much more. It is a fascinating virtual tour filled with things you may not have ever known about the Studios, and just may want to seek out on your next trip.
I’ll announce the winner of our last Walt Disney World Trivia Contest before playing some more of your voicemails at the end of the show. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this week's episode of the WDW Radio Show.
You can email the show at lou@wdwradio.com or call the voicemail TOLL FREE at 888-703-2171.
Talk about the show by visiting and posting in the WDW Radio Show message forums
Thanks for listening! Be sure to tune in next week!

Hey Lou!

Thanks!
Wow. That was like a Premier Edition of a DSI. Thanks, so much, for the time that went into this week's show! It was a real treat.
Have you seen my dad? Would you page him for me?
Next Family trip = April 16 - April 23, 2011, staying in an All Star Vacation Home!
Lou,
I have to tell you that I'm only half way through the podcast but it is already one of my all time favorite podcasts Disney or otherwise. This one will be on my iPod for a long time!!!!!
Nice job!
I was just at Hollywood Studios last week - what a great follow-up!
This was pure gold ....
I have no favorite WDW park; I enjoy all four for different reasons and emotions. For me, DHS taps into my love of the nostalgia for a bygone Hollywood era. Hearing the details the Imagineers put into this park (some of which I already knew) was amazing.
Please Lou, bring back Mr. Korkis for future in-depth interviews!
Wow! That is all I have to say about the awesome podcast with Jim KorkisFantastic information about many overlooked features. I know that I will have the camera out looking during our July trip for all the cool items that you and Jim spoke about. After it was over I was wanting the two of you to walk down the Streets of America
I hope you plan more podcasts like this. Thanks so much.
Lou,
FANTASTIC Show! I loved all the trivia about DHS and can't wait to explore next month.
Fantastic show. I enjoyed every minute.
In January 2000 I did the Backstage Magic Tour. For some reason our tour guide didn't make it that day and the guy that ended up being our guide was Jim Korkis. I had no idea who he was, let alone anyone special. If only I had known the information he had at his disposal. He is an absolute pleasure to listen to, I could let him go on for hours. This was my favorite podcast followed closely by the one in October when Jim was on doing the back story of the Pleasure Island. I think your next special event should include Jim Korkis. I would pay top dollar to follow this guy around a park.

Loved this show!!! It was jam packed with great trivia and backstory.
I've never paid much attention to the story of DHS when I've been there in the past. Quite honestly I've always thought that the story in this park wasn't as good as the others. Looks like I was completely wrong.
I can't wait to go back to this park with all of the information from this particular podcast and see it through a brand new set of eyes.
As always, love your show.
Fun show to listen too. Combine video with this and that'd be awesome!![]()

WDWRadio Cruise : Deck 8 is great!
"Almost there!"
"Keep moving forward!"
The Jim Korkis tour of Hollywood Studios was AWESOME!!!! Please do more with him. You said in the interview he was an author but I did't see any books listed when I searched his name on Google. What has he written?
Listening to Jim Korkis as he strolled through the park was unbelievable. I could just close my eyes and I would be there admiring each little detail as Jim described it!
i really look forward to paying more attention to the story behind Hollywood Studios next time I am there!
Kudos to one of your best podcasts, Lou! I am making it required listening for the family on our upcoming trip.
