| Re: What do you think of Disney's new, online dining reservation (ADR) system? Hey MissMonorail, the time that you can start booking online is at 6am. So one hour before you can start calling. Hope that helps!

| Re: What do you think of Disney's new, online dining reservation (ADR) system? This is our first time to make dining reservations for a trip. I agree, it was so easy and I like that it is saved my plans with my other trip information. The more I can do on-line, the easier it is for me! |

| Re: What do you think of Disney's new, online dining reservation (ADR) system? I just made a last minute reservation for the 4th at DHS. Turns out there were a lot of options and it was easy to make a choice convenient for our plans. And no we are not staying at the resort. Just logged in using the Disney.com user name I have. Overall, a really simple process. Quote:
I'm not convinced that this will increase or decrease the ADR "abuse" situation. I'm thinking the policy change to 90 days out makes a bigger difference in actuality.

From some of the online talk, many people are hedging bets and making multiple ADR's in order to be prepared. It's a bit of a shame but what can you do? It is probably a very small percentage of people that would do this so I am sure it is negligible.

| Re: What do you think of Disney's new, online dining reservation (ADR) system? Just discovered/used the new ADR system yesterday to book two dinners and a lunch reservation. It is definitely nice to be able to do this without having to call and tie up a CM if you know exactly what you're wanting. Of course, the CMs at the call center can still do something the online system can't: check all times at once. A CM I was speaking to was able to look for any available times from start to close for a restaurant I was a little desparate to get into, (Ohana's, for those who are detail-oriented ) , so I rather wish you could do that online. Instead of clicking through multiple hours, just click a "all available times" option or something. Of course, I still didn't get into Ohana's...but I think I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and call again soon. ![]()

| Re: What do you think of Disney's new, online dining reservation (ADR) system? I've had plans change for my trip this weekend and my October trip where I've had to cancel my ADR. Sooooo much easier to do it online than call Disney and wait on hold for a half hour. I much prefer the online system.

| C-Ticket Holder | Re: What do you think of Disney's new, online dining reservation (ADR) system? I had relatives go the 1st week of June (2 weeks before the online system started) and they were told by the host at a popular restaurant that over 40 percent ADR's are no-shows. I am guessing that number may go higher with the online ADR system in place. We are going September 19-26 and the online ADR's system came online a couple days before we could make our reservations. The learning curve was steep since we did not know exactly when you could begin making reservations online. We originally thought online ADR's could be made at midnight ET (eastern time) so we could start at 11pm CT (central time). Then noticed that not only could you not make a reservation for 90 days out, but was unable to make a reservation for 89 days between midnight ET and 6am ET. Then we found 6am ET means we could make our reservation at 5am CT. Needless to say, a few late nights and early mornings, but we finally figured it out. Later, I figured out that for people visiting Disney the week before us, their 90+10 days reservation period had already had started. Meaning others were able to make reservations for the same times/places up to a full 10 days before we could. Also, each day further into your vacation you make ADR's means you have a better chance of getting your reservation because fewer people have reached their 90+10 day ADR period. The realization here is that unless you are staying for over 10 days, you may never get a reservation at one of the more popular restaurants. At first we found the same results online as with calling CRO (in the morning 90+10 days out), every time we wanted was booked outside of 2 hours (for example, an 8am reservation was not available at that restaurant until 10am. We then started checking every day at least once per day after between 5-10 days (80-85 days out) we started finding the exact time or within 10 minutes of the time we wanted. For example, an 8am reservation, was available at 7:50am or 8:10am. The lesson here is in thinking outside the box. According to most WDW books, you must call as soon as possible 90(+10) days out. I think that with such a high no-show rate, you have a much greater chance of getting a walk-in or by constantly checking for reservations online so you have a good chance of grabbing a spot from a cancellation. After considering the amount of effort to check once or more per day, I would like to hear from people going to the most highly desired restaurants and getting in as a walk-ins. I imagine myself going to any restaurant and getting a walk-in because they know the no-show/late cancellation rate is 50 percent or higher. For breakfast, I also read that going early gives you a much better chance of getting a walk-in, even at places like Chef Mickey's or Cinderella's Royal Table. I mention this because I eat breakfast at 6:30am at home and know that WDW does not offer reservations anywhere before 7am.
