Top things to do when it's cold? If you are from Minnesota, head on over to Splash Mountain and ride without any lines!
Hello and welcome to The WDW Radio Show - Your Walt Disney World Information Station. I am your host, Lou Mongello and this is show #155 for the week of January 24, 2010.
In this week's Walt Disney World News, we'll talk about a new corporate sponsor, new construction, and a new name. In the Rumor Mill, we'll take a quick look at a possible new Disney resort of a different kind, and a very interesting look at something that may be coming in the future.
The weather in Walt Disney World often plays a factor in not just deciding when to go, but how best to enjoy the parks. And often times, people are looking for the best ways to beat the Florida heat and stay cool. But what happens when the weather turns the holiday snow on Main Street, USA from soap to the real thing? People are then faced with a new challenge - how to best stay warm and still enjoy all that Walt Disney World has to offer. So this week, we're going to look at the Top Ten Things to do When Its Cold in Walt Disney World.
I'll play more of your voicemails at the end of the show so sit back, relax, and enjoy this week's episode of the WDW Radio Show.

Why on earth can`t Disney sell these in stores!?!?!?!
I`m a Star Wars nerd. And a drummer.
Great show this week, Lou! Your discussion on the Top 10 Things to do When It's Cold in WDW with Tim was very interesting to hear. I'm sure it's not many times this has to be addressed down there, but the recent weather snap surely made it apparent. It was a lot of great tips, and I'm sure very helpful as well! As always, keep up the great work every week, Lou!
Keep it cool, and keep moving forward!

Another good show.
Good call on some of the quiet areas of the resorts in cold times. I particularly like the Solarium at the Beach Club. Great place to kick back, read a little, take in the atmosphere (and, probably, a little nap).
Any list I made would include hanging out at Animal Kingdom Lodge. They have some really interesting rooms to lounge and view art, books, and artifacts while relaxing. I would hang out a little, but mainly I would spend time talking with the cast members about how cold it can get "back home" and get some of the other stories of Africa. Great thing to do no matter what the weather! Plus, in the late afternoon their lounge that overlooks Boma is a really warm and cozy place to kick back and share a beverage.
Have you seen my dad? Would you page him for me?
Next Family trip = April 16 - April 23, 2011, staying in an All Star Vacation Home!
Great show again this week Lou! The Top Ten with Tim is one of my absolute favorite segments! You two are a riot together!
As for what I would love to do at Disney during a cold snap: I'd love to have a Savannah view room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and just lounge with a nice comfy blanket watching the animals and basking in the fact I'm at Disney.
Who am I kidding...I'd be at the parks laughing at all those chumps who are too cold to ride things. I'm from Chicago...those temps sound downright balmy!
Look at the water ride application. Im certainly no expert but all it seems to be is a bunch of basic amusment rides with some water features thrown in? Can you even get a patent for that? Sure seems like they are trying though.
I cant decide if they are for the existing water parks or regular parks or a brand new park. My best guess is just to add to the water parks. Some of those rides you will get soaked so I dont see them in the parks, more suitable for water parks IMO.
Good shows. Congrats on your podcast award
Great show!!! I loved the top 10 things to stay warm. That was fun. We went down last Christmas (2009) and it got really cold. 37 degrees or cloder at night. We wnet to the parks on a cold day and my brother wanted to ride Splash Mountain. He wanted to ride in the front. I rode the ride with him, but thankfully we picked the middle so we wouldn't get as wet! It was fun though. The Haunted Mansion was the place to be because it was warm inside! Thanks for the awesome show!
great show! Cold snap is a good excuse to stock up on Disney sweat shirts (as if any of us need an excuse!!!!
