The Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street, USA in the Magic Kingdom was established, according to story, in 1886, and is a real, working barber shop, complete with three old-style barber chairs. Here, you or your children can get a haircut, with special treatment given to those children who mark their visit to WDW with their first haircut. Complimentary Mickey ears, complete with "First Haircut" embroidered on the back are given as a souvenir of the occasion.

I actually liked the barber shop in its original location better. Very hidden now.

When my DS was in the College Program, they had to keep their hair within Disney guidelines and had an employees barber. Yikes, what they did to my sons head.

While we were down visiting I took him into the Harmony Barber Shop during the parade. They fixed him up very well! Though I have to say the wait was long and at that time they did not take ressies.

Frankly, for a little girl it is a good alternative to the whole Bippity thingy.
I saw many girls get their hair curled and sparkled and they pranced out like they were little princesses.

we took my son last year; walked right in and they sat him in the chair. I think it depends on the time of day, but I've not seen a need for a reservation when we've been there.

My son got his first ever (yes really) haircut at the Harmony Barber Shop. In addition to the hat they also gave us a lock of his hair wrapped up in a little box. The funny thing is he hasn't behaved for a haircut since!

we did bug's first cut there and here is what i did with her hair and the glitter they gave us.. we didnt make ressies.. then i didnt think they did.. but its a great idea..

i am debating if i should do it on our 1st day there or on her actual birthday.
