aph, the stream did get bad inside Epcot, however, the broadcast overall was great. Theres just something about spending time with other Disney geeks I find enjoyable. Its quite an escape from my daily life and my profession ( which is filled with people at their absolute worst). Its that escape I look for, whether its done by an actual trip to WDW / DCL, or listening to Lou's show, live broadcats, or surfing the forums.

I was there for the first 2 hours or so of broadcast out in front of MK. I was too shy in the MASSIVE group of WDW Radio people to go introduce myself to Lou and the gang, but I was able to sneak a few pics which I put over in my College Program thread.
Then I caught up to them awhile after when they were in the Hub in front of the castle and just observed, but unfortunately had to leave then to go to work.![]()
However, I watched the interviews in Cosmic Ray's and the oh-so-entertaining car ride the next morning, lol.
Otherwise, Disney Quest has me working 10-12 hour shifts so I missed a whole lot more than I wanted.
The amount raised Make a Wish was absolutely incredible. I got to work with a Make a Wish family the other night at DQ and the looks on the kids' faces were worth every single long shift, late night, and early morning I've yet to experience. They truly are magical moments.
Me? I was on an amazing (non-Disney) cruise to the Caribbean, celebrating my wife's birthday (a month late, but still) from Thursday through Monday. I didn't listen to a single podcast or a bit of Disney anything all weekend, much less waste a single second of my time in a box listening to a podcast for 40 hours. Then again, I wouldn't have have done it if I had been home in NY, either. It just seems so...
I was in the box for about 6 to 7 hours not counting leaving it on next to my bed while I was asleep on Saturday night. My favorite parts were seeing the ceremony on Saturday morning and the car trip from MK to Beach Club (Puttin on the Ritz).
Simply amazed at how much money was raised.
I can't imagine how tired Lou and the gang were at the end. It sure was fun.
See ya,
Melissa
There are some things in my life that I'll never understand but they become the force that makes me who I am.
My trips:
1975-1989 - WDW- numerous (all off property)
March 1993 - Disneyland (off property)
July 1994 - Disneyland (off property)
October 1997 - All-Star Sports
June 2003- Pop Century
November 2003 - Pop Century
July 2007 - Poly
December 2008 - Yacht Club
January 2010 - Port Orleans French Quarter
March 2011 - Port Orleans Riverside
Sept 2012 - Disneyland - Grand Californian
Well, I definetly look at it from a point of positivity. It was done not only as celebrating 40 years of WDW, but more importantly, raising money for Make A Wish Foundation. Over $17,000 was raised to grant kids an incredible wish, to go to WDW. I've seen first hand the delight in the eyes of a child, bald from chemo therapy, who has suffered so very much. Its enough to break even the hardest of men. And for that, I am glad I watched and took part in it. Than, along with my own selfish reasons of just needing a WDW fix to hold me over until I can make it back.

From a fundraising point of view, sure. And I applaud Lou's efforts, no matter what the cause. But I couldn't sit around myself and listen to the show non-stop. It's just not going to happen.
Missed the whole shindig. This was the best sports weekend in Wisconsin history. The Milwaukee Brewers had two playoff games, one of which I attended. I also attended the Wisconsin Badger/Nebraska Cornhuskers game. And the Packers played. But I hope everyone had fun.
WDW Radio Android App.
If I had to guess, i think i was in the box about 25 hours total on and off. My favorite part was definitely watching Wishes, and who could forget the car ride from MK to Epcot Saturday night? Congratulations to all the runners and to the amazing amount of money raised!

Was in the box for the first few hours and then popped in for more over the remaining time. Loved watching MSEP and Wishes at 2am in the morning (UK time)
I also enjoyed the 80's car journey on the Sunday, but the feed started to get a little too choppy for me in Epcot.
Trying to find time to catch the footage I missed via the Ustream videos. Can anyone tell me about what time 'Puttin on the ritz' featured so I can track it down?
