That's good news; bad news. The "good news" is that guests that are not AP's will save a few bucks, etc. The "bad news" is that the long rumored park hopper tickets with no expiration may soon go the way of the dinosaur, like $1.25/gallon gasoline.
The Disney bean counters (always looking to make an extra buck or 20) were looking for a way to gradually retire the "no expiration" policy. When we used to buy our tickets at AAA, the reps always suggested we buy more at the time for future visits since most are purchased for Spring Break visits before the annual rate hikes. Also, AAA does not sell AP's.
Disney has long been able to track the use of any ticket thru its POS system. So, this is really a rat in mouse clothing.
