When are you planning on going? They are going to be doing a major pool rehab at the Carribean Beach so you may be better off at Coronado Springs but it is a huge reaort (actually they are both very large) so just ask for a room near the bus stop.
It's kind of fun to do the impossible!

Coronado is beautiful. I've stayed there twice. I went with my sister this year who has stayed at the Carribean and she thought Coronado was much better.

Conorado Springs...I stayed at both, I remember more from CS since I went there last year, I went to CB when I was younger and don't remember much. There are many pools the smaller pools aren't as busy as the larger pool (since its more popluar). You can rent little boats for a little romantic cruise, and more!

Hopes this helps! You should also check out Disney's website.

We've stayed at CS 3 times and loved the resort. i enjoy the pepper market and the quiet pools. It is big but it has several different bus stops so we were never to far away from one. Have fun

I hate Coronado Springs' Pepper Market. Here's why:
Pepper Market is the open air Food Court at Coronado Springs. Upon entering, you are escorted to a table and presented with a ticket. You walk around selecting the foods you want, your ticket is stamped. When you exit the Market you pay your bill. A 10% gratuity is added automatically.

A gratuity for getting your own food? Oh right. They won't let you get your own drink. Such service!

I used to like the pepper market, but I agree with you about the charge. And now the menu has changed.

I don't mind tipping when I receive service but I don't like the contrived way they obligate you tip. If I have to get up and carry my own food to the table, why can't I also just get the drink along with my meal? It's ridiculous to insert "servers" into that situation. Either serve me the whole meal or nothing at all. That dining model is completely stupid.

I'm glad you posted this info.I have never stayed at CS as of yet,but now,it appears I may never.I WILL NOT tip for my own service! I tip only if I go to a sit-down restaurant and the amount depends upon the quality of service I get.Good service, good tip.Bad service, well, you do the math.
I love the food courts at the value resorts,ah,but of course,I know there are those that do not.But then again, their nose is most likely stuck up so high, that they cannot see their faces!Oh,Muffy, was he talking about us?

You don't have to eat there. The Coronado is more than just the Pepper Market.

Re: Coronado Resort or Caribbean Beach?

Now I'll give my opinion about Cs or CBR.We stayed at CBR once, and it was ok,fine,so-so,so-what.Get my drift?
The food court wasn't worth walking in,the extra amenities that you get, that are not at the values, was definitely not worth the extra bucks per night! The rooms were just barely bigger than a value resort room.Woop-pee-doo,that the tv sat inside a cabinet unit! The pools were ok,because the ones closest to the room was barely any people in it each time we were in it.We stayed in the Jamaica section and I DO reccommend that you ask for that section. Why?because when the buses came in and out, they used a back entrance and exit only for buses, and the first stop was always at Jamaica.First to get on,first to get off. That part was ok.Will I ever stay at CBR again? No,probably not.

What you said may be true. But when I stay at a resort of ANY caliber,I expect a decent food court with reasonable prices and definitely no tipping for self-service! That is totally outrageous! However,I do not limit my meals to the resort food court only.We do eat several meals at the food court, but not all.We do eat at DD,at Earl of Sandwich,Wolfgang Puck's and such.
Would I ever stay at CS even though this tipping thing is present?Possibly, because we have not stayed there yet and I would have to see the place and experience my options to eat at the food court or not.If I am not satisfied with the tipping thing, then I would not stay there, based on what I said in the first paragraph.

I agree that obligatory tipping for buffet and self serve is outrageous! They do it at all the buffets as well (Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare, etc.) We all get our own meals except for the drinks. I am inclined to tip for the service received, but the 18% they "suggest" should be for full service restaurants, not buffets. On my next trip, I am going to tip what I feel the server deserves, and I DARE someone at Disney to tell me I have to pay more!
