WDW Rate It!: MGM Backlot Tour

I have to give it 5 stars becuase I just love musemum (SP) like attractions. I also LOVE to learn about movies!!!!!

This attraction was much better in it's original form.

Could definitely use some additions. Not all that exciting.

I love how they show you how special effects are done!

2 stars. To me it's one of those rides that once you have been on it once, you're glad you saw it, but don't particularly have a big desire to go on it again because you've already seen it.

It was better back in the day...I loved going through the neighborhood. I wish that was still a part of it.

They have added some of the props from the newest Bill Murray movie to it. I saw some pics online. I'll try to find them and get em posted!!!!!

I made the mistake of taking the Universal Studio backlot tour a while before this one. So I was kind of disappointed with it. And I wasn't to thrilled with the first half of it either.

Disaster Canyon and the Museum at the end are pretty cool though (Even though you don't need to go on the ride to see the museum.

IMHO I think Dinsey should do more to cultivate the "studios" image, without trying to be Universal. I love the street scenes, both at Disney and Universal. I know the trend now in all theme parks is "thrills and spills", but there is also a place for educational entertainment. My DW and I love to "go behind the scenes" so to speak to see how the magic of movies and TV are made.

I liked it and so does my entire family. I do it almost every year and each time see something new. This time, my 7 year old went on it, and loved it. Don't know why, but he took lots of photos with his disposible camera. I did see the Bill Murray "Life Aquatic" editions, including the scuba suit.....

Since Disney's parent company is ABC and there are so many good shows on it, why can't they include some displays or memorabilia from those shows. Also I saw Oprah when she was on the set of Desperate Housewives one day. She was on the residential street and said her "home" in the show would be that of Herman Munster. I distinctly remember that house at 1313 Mockingbird lane being on the Universal Studios tour in Calif. Are Disney and Universal linked in some way with television and movie production? Back to the question... anyway I would like to see a Residential street again, and more costumes displayed, and more vehicles used in CURRENT movies.

I love it because it's fun, educational... and a nice relaxing time if you've been running around at top speed all day.

Good, but used to be better.
