Has anyone ever gone to the Very Merry Christmas party? Is it worth the extra money? What all is included besides a different parade, different shows, and hot chocolate? Are the rides still open? Does anyone know if the Castle will be decorated/ lit up so that it can be seen at times other then the MVMCP?
This is my first trip to WDW since I was a young child and my husbands first trip EVER so any help you can give is very appreciated

I went last year, and this is an event you kinda want to do once. They often call it as the $45 dollar cookie event, but there's really more to it. The parade is great, fireworks are done special for this event, there are all kinds of shows you can watch and you can get your picture taken with Mickey and Minnie in their holiday attire. Of course, there are free cookies, hot chocolate, apple slices and apple juice to snack on, and the crowd level is minimum, you can ride almost every ride open at that time with little or no wait at all. I have one suggestion though, save your park hopper park day for this day, and keep it relaxed, go shopping at Downtown Disney or enjoy your resort and head to the MK at about 4 pm, that's the time they let you in the park if you have MVMCP tickets, and this is plenty of time for you to enjoy the MK.

My first trip to MVMCP was last year and it was wonderful! To me it was worth the extra money. There are rides open and many times with less waiting. I think I rode BTMRR 4 times - it was get off, walk back on (or that may have been the halloween party the year before) Anyway, during the times I have gone to these ticketed events, the crowds are smaller and it just feels more like a holiday. The castle is lit up and I believe this year they have more lights on it than ever before. The parades are good and I really don't like parades! But I enjoyed the fireworks most of all. It was just a very relaxing time to go and enjoy the Magic Kingdom.
Everyone should try it once in their life.
I don't think I even got one of those cookies! lol
MVMCP is well worth the money and a must do if you are at The World during the holidays! :yes: And the best part is seeing it snow on Main Street!!! I cannot wait to go back!
Ordinarily the answer to that is no BUT this year they are planning an AWESOME castle decoration that I am totally bummed I'm not going to get to see. We had a thread on it somewhere... I'll have to find it. It's going to be gorgeous.Quote:

Yes, mvmcp is definitely worth it! I went last year and had so much fun. There are characters in special outfits, the parade and fireworks are amazing, and the snacks are pretty good. I am so sad I can't make it this year.:cry::(
this year will be my familys first time at the xmas party and we cant wait!! weve never been to the world on a holiday before so it should be a ton of fun!
We were gonna go to it this year but due to disney raising there prices we had to cancel our trip.

I went to MVMCP last year. It is defenatly worth the money. The parade was awesome (I have the music) and there is hardly any wait for line even the most popular rides. You can see characters in their Christmas attire, a special stage show, and more!
It was great the shows, cookies, ride lines, crowds, Fireworks, snow. Everything is great! Our first MVMCP was last december it was great!
