    Cinderella Castle Cake

Okay, so we all know that for the WDW 25th anniversary Cinderella Castle was transformed into a giant pink birthday cake. My question is how many of us actually got to see the creation in person?? From a lot of the posts that I've read on the sight, the whole castle cake idea doesn't seem very well-liked so I thought it would be interesting for everyone to tell if they actually saw the castle like that and what they thought of it.

Even if you only saw pictures of the castle like that it would still be interesting to hear your opinion on it.

I did have the opportunity to see the castle while it was decorated like this. Even though I like the castle better in its regular decor, I must say the castle cake holds a special place in my heart. My very first trip to WDW was during this time, so that was the very first way that I saw the castle, and it did not seem any less amazing to me just because it was bright pink---I fell in love with it. My very first WDW memories are of the birthday cake castle, and I had to wait four years after that trip to see what the castle is actually "supposed" to look like.

I saw the cake in person but didn't like it. To me, it was cheesy and over-the-top. I didn't think it had a place in WDW.

I was in Disneyworld in the January1997 & the Castle was madeover like the Pink Cake....................It was my first ever trip to Florida....to Orlando.........to Disneyworld....so I fell in love with the Castle there & then.....................as I,d never then seen it any other way to me it was wonderful................& I still have a soft spot for that first ever view of the "Pink" Magic.......I love it as it is today & I love the Xmas "Ice Lighting effect" & I loved the Gold figures & trimmings a couple of years back ( except for the huge mirror thing ).

I kind of liked the giant cake - I just didn't like that the castle had to be hidden under it. Also, it was a bit strange on the backside, like they just didn't finish it all the way around.

Recently I found photos of the Castle at Disneyland Paris. They "transformed" it for its first anniversary and it's fifth. Personally, after seeing those pictures, we have little to complain about!

I saw the castle and at the time I loved it as I was a child at the time. Now looking back as an adult, even though I am still a kid at heart, I think it is hideous. Maybe it is one of those things, where you truly have to be a child to really appreciate it for what it is. Makes me think the immagineers know a thing or two about catering to a younger crowd.

I thought it was great. Of coarse I love the Castle the way it is now more, but I had to go and see it decorated like the Cake and I am glad I did. Maybe I just find it hard to NOT like something at Disney.

Saw the castle for the 1st time in 2/97 and wasn't warned about the "Pink" cake. I remember being on the monorail looking at it like what the heck? Thought it was cool that they put such an effort into it. Although like another poster said; Not sure why they didn't finish the back side of it. Also, saw it with the gold figures and trim and thought that was very nice., the crystal look this winter was a nice touch. Some of those pictures from way back when are wacky!

I saw it in June of '97 and thought it was pretty cool at the time. But everyone is right it looks better in its normal appearance.

The first year for the DLP castle is really weird. It's worse than the cake at WDW.
