WDW Theme Parks Discuss What Park do you go to First? in the Vacation Planning forums; Same thing. I start at MK, then Epcot, DHS, day off, Epcot, and end on MK. I like the other parks but none can compare to MK....

We always go to Magic Kingdom first. The rest of the order is MGM, EPCOT, and Animal Kingdom.
Normally, we go to MK first!
"Most of my life I have done what I wanted to do. I have had fun on the job.
I have never been able to confine that fun to office hours." ~ Walt Disney
I go to the park that Len's magical Tourning Plans tell me to visit that particular day!
Good point, I begin and end my trips at the MK. Once is never enough
Ok, I voted for DHS, but I need to explain. Since I'm flying down there, I almost never have time for a full day on my first day. On my last trip I decided to hit DHS (MGM then) first so I could ride Tower of Terror, Rockin' Roller Coaster, and catch Fantasmic. It was a short, but exhilarating way to start my trip!
We usually have a dining ADR the first day we get in and cannot ever seem to get there any earlier than 1.
So we always go to Animal Kingdom first to get a quick ride on Expedition Everest in before going back to shower and get ready to eat
When I was a kid and during my Honeymoon (but never both at the same time) we started with the Magic Kingdom. Of course, it's the traditional place to begin.
But now, my wife and I have grown into EPCOT people, and we like to start there.
Dreams Never Die!
i plan my trip around the extra magic hours. whichever park has extra hours is the one i go to on that day, so the first day is different for me every time.

This past time we planned according to the EMHs (Epcot, MK, and then DHS), but normally we do Epcot first, then DHS, and then MK. The reasoning behind it is that the MK is my favorite place in the whole world and I like to build up to it instead of doing it on the first day and then going to the "lesser" parks, although it's hard to call them lesser because I love them all. We also decided not to do AK everytime because we don't feel it's entirely worth it and we pretty much only do each park once (sometimes going to Universal) because of our budget.

C'mon everybody! Let's all clap our hands and dance in a circle!
Well, I always check EMH before I leave, and I try to use 'em...but it's really hard to not hit MK on your first day. There's no better way to start a WDW vacation than by "walking right down the middle of Main, Street, U.S.A.!!!!"

I love to hit the Magic Kingdom first...there's just something about starting your stay off at the heart of the world...where the magic first began!!
Cool new site by the way!
MK is definitely the way to go for a first-day experience... nothing beats the sight of Cinderella's Castle and the looming grandeur of Space Mountain.
