    What has changed?

My question is this: what attractions around the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios could you step onto today and still have the same (or very similar) experience as when the attraction first opened? I didn't include Animal Kingdom in this because the park is still relatively young.

For example...Pirates has changed since it opened. The Haunted Mansion has changed. Spaceship Earth has changed. You see what I'm getting at? What attractions are left that are unchanged (or changed very little) since they first opened? What ride can you step onto today and have the same experience as you did in, say, 1981?

I have a short list: Thunder Mountain. Small World. And maybe the Country Bear Jamboree. Has that show changed at all since it debuted?

Please, feel free to add to that list and give me your thoughts!

I think just the cover they put on it. When it first opened, it was open to the elements.

Country Bears used to have a seasonal show for the holidays, and for a few years they replace the main show with a vacation hoedown version but the regular show came back and is still as corny as ever.

How about Snow White? I know the original Disneyland version didn't have Snow White in it, but was the WDW version built the same way and changed, or was she in it from the beginning here?

Very little remains unchanged, as Walt said, "Whenever I go on a ride, I'm always thinking of what's wrong with the thing and how it can be improved."

Have the Great Movie Ride and Star Tours changed? I've heard they're working on updating Star Tours, but has it had anything done up till now?

I've heard Snow White's Scary Adventures used to be a bit more scary and not end with a happy ending, so I guess that's considered a change.

GMR gets updated here and there, but that's just the film at the end to add more recent movies to it. I don't think Star Tours was there when MGM first opened, though I could be wrong.

Pooh used to be Mr. Toad (which if he was still there, he'd be unchanged as well)

CoP has been updated, they say so in the preshow

    RnRR is fairly new

Space Mountain has also gotten new ride vehicles since the attraction was opened in the 1970's. I think they used to have seatbelts and a different seating configuration.
As stated above, Snow White has changed, just in the past 15 years or so. Videos of the original version are on YouTube.
Splash Mountain isn't much different now than it was when it opened. I know the loading dock has recently been updated.

Star Tours is still the same attraction that it was in 1989 (unfortunately). The Indy stunt show has also been the same since it opened. The Great Movie Ride has an updated montage movie every few years, but otherwise it's not much different than when it opened. There is a great video from opening day at MGM online that is a ride through of the attraction. The dancers from "Footlight Parade" used to spin around. I understand that effect was abandoned as it became very difficult to maintain. It is really cool to see it on the video though.

The Maelstrom is pretty much the same as when it was first built. A very charming piece of nostalgia was removed last year when the El Rio Del Tiempo was changed to its current form. I like the new version, but riding on that boat was like a time machine back to 1982! I'm actually surprised it remained unchanged for almost 25 years.
