Did you ever contact AlbinoPygmy about his advice regarding Jungle Cruise? He is a legendary skipper on the cruise. His input would probably be invaluable.
Time is getting short! Are you getting nervous?!

good morning, just wanted to wish you the best of luck, whatever you end up doing she will love it! have a good trip and cant wait to hear the update when you get home about how it went!!!!![]()
MagicMom - I sent him a PM, but never got a response back!!
And I AM getting nervous. And I'm fairly certain that she has an idea it's coming, too
And thanks for the well wishes, DisneyMommi!
I went for the obvious, and I proposed to my fiancee in front of Cinderella's castle. It was awesome. Definitely recommended.
If I had to pick another place, though, I've always thought the World Showcase is a very romantic place in general. Maybe it's the effect of walking through some beautiful places of the world without leaving Orlando.
Anyway, I wish you the best of luck. And even if you think she's got an idea it's coming, I wouldn't worry about it. My fiancee kind of picked up on it as well, but it's still the memory and the moment that will make it last forever.
There is a certain section of Swiss Family Treehouse that has a great view of the top of the castle. If you could get there before Wishes and propose during, that would be very romantic! Also, there is hardly anyone at Swiss Family Treehouse in the evening, you might have a good chance of being alone.
Well folks, thanks again for all of your great ideas and suggestions! I very much appreciate it!
We're leaving early Saturday morning, and between work and packing tomorrow, I probably won't get back onto the board again. So I just wanted to say thank you all for the 4 pages worth of ideas and suggestions!
I will be sure to give you a full report as soon as I get back!!!
Wish me luck!!!!!!
I suppose you are already there by now, but I wanted to tell you to have an extra magical trip!
Can't wait to get that full report!
Good luck as you enter into a Whole New World!
Aaaand I'm back!
And it went very well!
Sunday night was extra magic hours at Magic Kingdom, so it was open until 1am.
Around 12:40ish, we started to make our way back to the bus. There is a really nice and secluded path alongside the castle. If you're looking at the front, it's to the left. If you're coming from the back, it's right by the fountain of Cinderella.
Anyway, it was very pretty with the castle all lit up, and that's the path I steered her toward on the way back. There was literally no one around, and we stopped at one of the little overhangs looking over the water, and I did it there.
I caught her totally off guard and by surprise.
It was really cool and special, and I don't think she'll ever forget it!![]()
That is so sweet. =] I'm glad you guys had a romantic and fun Disney trip.
Now it's time to plan the Disney honeymoon! :P
A dream is *WISH* your heart makes, when you're fast asleep.
Going to Disney this June of '10!
`~`A true Disney princes!`~`
Cinderella Fountain is my favorite place in the whole World. I have taken a photo there on ever trip so far! What a wonderful spot.
So what did she think of all of us here waiting to hear how things went?
Well, you forgot the important part, she said YES, right???
Congratulations on your engagement. I hope you have lots of fun planning the wedding, and especially the Disney honeymoon!
At the end of the week, I totally said "We're coming here for the honeymoon, right?" Haha
And yes! Sorry! She DID say yes! Haha, my bad, forgot to mention that little tidbit.
And she wasn't surprised I had people waiting all over the Internet for how it went down. She's well aware of all my interwebz activities, haha
And thanks guys!!![]()
Congrats on the engagement bamfer23. I'm going to the World in August to propose to my GF. I hope it goes as well as yours did

Uh oh, looks like I need to check my messages more often. Glad to hear it all went well
Anyways, here's what I would have suggested for those interested:
1) memorize the jokes in the scene(s) of Jungle Cruise you'd like to pop the question.
2) Get in contact with a skipper earlier that day to plan when and where it'll take place
3) When you go for your ride, start to heckle the skipper in the scenes you have had memorized. Have the skipper take offense and ask "Well, do you think you can do better? Here's the mic, have at it!"
4) Finish off the joke and pop the question
I'd think the attacking natives scene would be ideal since you'll be 'ducking down' already and the question would come as more of a surprise then.
