Nice tribute.
I totally thought I posted this here already, but I searched for it and didn't find it. Anyway, I'm sure a lot of you can share my love for the geekyest land of The Magic Kingdom.
YouTube - Jake's Guitar Video 002 - Ode to Tomorrowland
First of all, I know I need to work on my singing. I am. But anyway, I wrote a song about my favorite land at The Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World here in Florida. The lyrics are below, but I've also added the guitar chords along with the lyrics in the video's closed caption option. Enjoy!
LYRICS
~~
1st Verse:
~~
The city of tomorrow... is a great electric... machine working for you.
When you feel a little sorrow, just take a spin on the Carousel of Progress.
We'll ride through the star tunnel tonight.
Take the Astro Orbiters to all new heights.
Stop by Sonny Eclipse and say hi.
Grab a FAST PASS for the Buzz Lightyear ride.
~~
1st Chorus:
~~
Tomorrowland, Tomorrowland, you are great. You are grand.
Won't someone please take my hand, and take me to Tomorrowland.
~~
2nd Verse:
~~
Racing at the speedway where no bumping is allowed. Grab a turkey leg at the Lunching Pad.
Meet up at the noodle station where no one's around. Skip Stitch's Great Escape 'cause it's really bad.
Stuck up on the TTA, it went 101.
Spend $50 on a plastic ray gun.
With all it's got to offer, there's no question that in Tomorrowland we'll have so much fun!
~~
2nd (Alt.) Chorus:
~~
Tomorrowland, Tomorrowland. Let's go see PUSH, the talking trash can.
Tomorrowland, I'm your biggest fan. No other land is cooler than Tomorrowland.
~~
Bridge:
~~
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day.
And if you had wings, you could do many things. And tomorrow is just a dream away.
~~
1st Chorus (x2)

Nice tribute.
Thanks.
You got kind of a Buddy Holly thing working for you...good job.
Buddy Holly is awesome, thanks for the compliment!
You play very well. I've owned guitars since 1986 and still can't play one song.
Why thank you
I've been playing since 2002. I'm more comfortable with my guitar skills than my vocal skills, but I think I can get better with practice. So what kind of guitars do you have? I'm really wanting to get a Fender Telecaster for my first electric.
I have A&L Ami Series
and Epiphone: Special Plus Red - TheMeltdown's Pictures | Ultimate-Guitar.Com
which is really pathetic for a non-player to own. I know about 7 chords and strum on them from time to time but that's about it.
Very nice guitars! You know plenty of chords. Look at Green Day (my favorite band), pretty much their whole career is built on 3 to 5 chords, lol. But they make those chords sound great. It's not what you can or can't play, it's how you play it I think.
Thanks for the compliment. As you get older your disposable income allows you more toys. I just can't seem to string the chords into something that sounds like a song. I also am not disciplined enough to practice daily. I tried to take a beginning guitar class when I was in college but I was the only beginner. The rest of the class zoomed ahead of me to where I was trying to strum a chord while they were playing songs. I dropped that class and never had any more formal instruction. I taught myself the chords but have not progressed beyond knowing them.
My dad showed me some basic chords and how to hold the strings down and other basics like that and the rest I know is self taught over the years. Google, guitar tab websites, and YouTube are REALLY helpful in learning new things on guitar.![]()
That's an idea. Maybe I'll try it when I have the house to myself.
There ya go. This guy ( YouTube - yourguitarsage's Channel ) is a pretty good teacher. I like his videos.
Thanks!
No problem.
