Tour Recommendations

Hey guys!
Looking into getting the Disney Mom/Wife a tour for either our trip for Thanksgiving or Mardi Gras (February). Wanted to do the Keys to the Kingdom, but the whole family couldn't come. Any recommendations for a family that needs a tour for 14+ year olds?Or any way to get into the Keys to the Kingdom for a 14 year old?

Thanks for any help!

Re: Tour Recommendations

It depends on what kind of things you are interested in.

I did a small research look on the net and found three that 14 year olds can participate in. They are in three different parks, here are the links:

This one takes place in DAK and lasts for 3 hours.
Wild By Design | Walt Disney World Resort

This one takes place at Epcot and dealing with Dolphins: Dolphins in Depth | Walt Disney World Resort

This one takes place in MK and dealing with the trains: Steam Trains Tour | Walt Disney World Resort

I personally haven't done any of them, but seems like others that I have talked to about them have lots of good things to say about them

Re: Tour Recommendations

Thanks, saw the Wild By Design that looks to be our best option.
Anyone who has any other recommendations is welcome to chime in.

Re: Tour Recommendations

I've taken both Wild by Design and Steam trains. Both were great. You did not say if the 14+ were boys or girls and whether they like trains. When I took the Steam trains tour, there were a numbe of young boys on it and they got a kick out of being taken back to the train barns and being able to climb all over the engine of a train. The tour is led by one of the actual engineers on the trains, so you get a lot of neat info about the operations and background.

The Wild by Design was interesting, but involved a huge amount of walking. It also was all "on stage" and the park was open about half way through the tour, making it a little hard to get to some of the areas.

Keep in mind, that for both tours you need to get to the park involved way before Disney transportation starts operating. When they say "be there at X AM", they mean it and could take off for the tour if it gets too far past the necessary start time.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Mary501
don't think that the train one is for us
We might just add something like a candlelight dinner package...

I know that it doesn't seem to be a fit for you, but I had a chance to take the "Keys to the Kingdom" tour several years back. It was excellent! As long as the subject matter is of interest, I think you will really enjoy your tour experience.

Re: Tour Recommendations

A short and inexpensive tour for kids of all ages is the Behind the Seeds tour in the Land Pavilion at Epcot. My son is 11 and just did this a couple months ago. He loved it.
