My "I have arrived" moment is when you first get off the Magical Express and a CM says to you, "Welcome Home!" with a great big smile on their face! It's gets me every single time!

Also, another great moment is when we go to the opening of MK. Seeing Mickey and all the other characters welcoming you to the most magical place on earth is so fun!

We drive from Ontario to Florida in one shot, usually leaving around 2pm on a Friday to arrive around 1pm on the Saturday. We stay just off resort so it doesn't start when we arrive. After a quick nap for me (my wife doesn't drive), my "you're in Disney" moment is when we go to Downtown Disney that evening just to get the juices flowing. THAT is when I can see the excitement on my wive and daughters faces, and the wallet starts trembling, and it always gets me get excited too.

We've driven in one shot a few times, but when my dads friend fell asleep at the wheel doing the same drive (my dad was in the car too, also asleep) we stopped that idea . They were fine, but it was scary! When we have more than one driver we will drive till 1-2am and then get back up at 6am and go... even 5 hours of sleep is better than nothing!

I hear 'ya. The first time I did it, I planned on stopping but for some reason don't get tired. But as I get older, the second I start getting tired it's a two day trip for sure.

That happened when I was driving with my cousin one year. He was only 25 (so a bit more used to pulling up all-nighters than my 55 year old dad is) and we were supposed to stop when he felt tired, and that just didn't happen. We have found that when we leave on a Friday after people are working its just too much... even a half day of work is draining enough to require a rest. Its hard to stop though when you just want to get there NOW!

Anyone else feel like that moment doesn't really hit until you are on your way back to the airport, and you think to yourself "how is it done, it seems like I just got here."

For me it's the moment I pass under the WDW arch, always brings a smile to my face.

Re: What is your "I have arrived" moment?

Normally, I will do the Christmas party on my first night there, so walking up to pick up my tickets at the box office always starts getting me psyched for WDW.
