Since my boys were very young when we our obsession with Disney.. Our traditions are linked to activities that were available to us when they were young. Of course, we’ve started new traditions but the following are consistently mandatory:
- Always plan for 2 Days at MK,1 day each for the other parks
- Ride the Train first, Barnstormer, Space Ranger Spin, Small World, Peter Pan, Triceratop spin
- Main street Cinnamon Roll on the way out of the park
- Crystal Palace, Hollywood and Vine, Cosmic Rays Star Lite Café, Playhouse Disney
- 1 Day at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach
- Buy the same shirts to wear on the 2nd MK visit
- Resort Arcade
- Magic Express and Disney Transportation
Chocolate covered marshmallows from The Scary Apothecary at the Studios. Yummy!
Our first ride is ALWAYS Pirates.
Since its opening,we have had a tradition of eating at Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney Marketplace,at least once while there.Great sandwiches at a great price,$5.00 per sandwich. All sandwiches are unique to Earl's,cause I haven't found any of their sandwiches at any other establishment, and probably won't.
after reading some of everyones traditions i remembered more of my family's. we always walk through Adventureland and ride Jungle Cruise first thing, then my dad and I will go on Splash Mt. We always see Indy bc it's my bro's fave and we used to try and reenact it when we were younger. I used to always get a stuffed animal but my collection grew too large and I grew up(sorta). My dad collected disney watches for a while so we'd always stop on Main Street and he would take a look. We would then just walk through the shops to the end seeing what was new and would buy it on the way out, that way we wouldn't have to carry it around all day. Also, once my brother and I were "old enough" to ride alone we would get to ride together w/o our parents which is something we still do.
.. Eat at Beaches & Cream!
My traditional birthday is always the same.....
Breakfast with Lilo & Stitch at the Polynesian (same Stitch T-shirt, Stitch ears and back pack every time).
Plenty of fun in MK, about 2.00pm take the resort launch to the Grand Floridian for a brief respite - afternoon tea at the Garden View Tea Rooms.
More fun in MK then a quick change into a Pooh T-shirt, Pooh ears and Pooh backpack for Birthday Tea at the Crystal Palace.
Suitably stuffed, we ride a few more attractions then watch the evening parade and wishes before returning to our Hotel - where there may be some cocktails....
It's absolutely the best way to spend a birthday!
Our normal tradition is to stop and let the magic of us being at WDW sink in, and then we would do our shopping on main st. We broke tradition this time and rode the train to adventureland so we could get in line for splash mountain. We did shop around the park and had our goodies sent to package pick-up which is a fantastic service, but when we did finally make it to main st, it was while people were rushing to leave the park. Next time we will go back to tradition.
We have a lot of traditions...
We have to go to MK first...no matter what!
We always have to do EPCOT second and DHS 3rd
Ghirardelli's Ice Cream from DTD is a must.
We MUST eat dinner at Chef Mickey's one night.
Always watch Wishes the last night (which means we must end in the MK also)
Obnoxiously sing "A Pirate's Life for Me" on PotC
We must eat at one World Showcase pavillion
I think thats about it for now!
