Hidden Paintbrushes

I have heard that there are hidden paintbrushes on Tom Sawyers Island. On our trip in October, my husband and I would like to attempt to find one. However, I don't know if this is something that is not worth the time, or if we should really try this. Has anyone tried this or was actually able to find one?? Any advice would be helpful!

I tried in the summer of '08 and I couldn't find anything. I called information and asked about it. Their response was, "Tom and Huck grew up and don't do that anymore."

No idea about currently though.

I haven't heard anything about the paintbrushes in some time now but you could always check with guest services in the park.:mickeykid

They seem to come and go. Good idea to check wit guest services or a CM at the Island first thing in the morning.

If it's still being done, they do it first thing in the morning. Luckily, not many people know about them, and Tom Sawyer's Island isn't very well-visited anyway. The paint brushes can be mistaken for theming and most people do not know to pick them up and turn them in.

I did it in the fall of 07 and ever since then I have not been able to locate one. I asked on October 09 first thing in the morning and the CM told me that it was not done on weekends. Which is when I was there. So it's still a possibility.

yes, what happens when you turn them in? I don't think I have ever heard of this before.

At one time, they were giving out FastPasses when you turned them in. The brush bristles were white (appropriately), and the handles were bright solid colors.

Yes it is still done...we were there this weekend and went to TSI about 11:00 AM. My two boys were looking for it as we explored the island with no luck. As we were heading back to the rafts, we saw a kid with the paintbrush in his hand.

Thank you all for your help. We will be there in October and are planning on searching for them. My husband and I have not been to the island in years and it is something we have on our list.

I hadn't been on the Island in years, either. Then I went on my last trip and was quickly reminded why I hadn't bothered in all that time.

Certainly not Captain EO, Wishes, that morning song nonsense, or Tom Sawyer's Island. For a start.

Well the paint brushes are gone again.

Seems Disney pulls out the brushes for the busy, seasonal times.
