Cinderella Castle vs Cinderella's Castle

Someone please explain the rationale behind the name to my mother... please - I have tried but to no avail.

The name of the castle is "Cinderella Castle"

If it were "Cinderella's Castle" it would imply that it was hers, which it is not. It's just the name of the castle.

Isn't it supposed to be like the castle in the story and so technically not her's but PRince Charming's??

Anyway, yes definitely called "Cinderella Castle"

lol - I'm an idiot - I didn't realize I had hit the submit button when I just posted, so I glanced up and saw the signature "Next trip to the World May 13-20, 2010!" and I got excited & said "WOW - I need to PM that person - they are going the same time we are!" Imagine my surprise when I tried to PM MYSELF!!! oh, I think it is bedtime for Bonzo!

alright, I'm scratching my head

. I know Lou talked about this somewhere, but I just listened to the Fantasyland Audio guide and it wasn't there. I believe it is called Cinderella castle because it was inspired by and tells the story of Cinderella. It is not Cinderella's castle because that would imply that Cinderella lived there which isn't supposed to be the case.

When you think about it, it does have the Disney coat of arms on it. I would agree, it is a canvas used to tell the story / keep it alive. Think about the murals inside. Also Tinkerbelle flying out has nothing to do with Cinderella of course.

I'm not into the Twilight series, but it would be cool for Disney to remake Cinderella in an edgy, yet family friendly style.

I'll leave the edgy weird Twilight stuff to Universal and Tim Burton. Twilight is overrated anyway.

Well, in the grand scheme of life, then no - it doesn't matter. But in my world of fanatic Disney life, it is the equivelant of nails on the chalkboard to me when I hear "Oh look - I can see Cinderella's Castle!" I guess in the end, nothing will matter much - I just thought I may be able to explain it better to my mother (who also says "now what day are we going to Disney and what day are we going to EPCOT?") ack
