    Easiest ride renovation ever:

Put fog machines in the Buzz Lightyear ride.

All you need to do is add fog, and suddenly you go from "Buzz Lightyear, the ride with blinking red dots that are impossible to aim (especially when you are hitting targets which are lit up. It is impossible to see where you are shooting)" to "Buzz Lightyear and freakin' LAZER BEAMS." It would improve the experience SO much. Just make it more sealed off from the outside so it could stay foggy.

Do that, and add a couple more little gimmicks and Disney could advertise it as a complete renovation.

But then I wouldn't be able to ride it

Fog machines make it hard for me to breathe.

(It would be kind of cool though!)

Sounds kinda' cool and I can picture the effect , but...
2 questions, and I hope you can answer them.

    1. It seems like the lazers in the fog would be like your car high beams in the fog and you might not be able to see the targets through it - making the concept unfeasible...?

    2. Would the propping, etc. need to be treated for the possible long term effects of the fog vapor - adding extra expense...?

    Just a few thoughts...

I actually work at a laser tag arena so I have experience with this. We do advertise that if you asthma you should not play, but I've never heard anyone have problems. I looked up the MSDS sheet of the fog fluid before when I started working there (can you tell I'm a chemistry major?) since I was concerned at the effect of breathing it so much, but other than saying it could be a mild irritant, it is safe.

That ****s that it makes it hard for you to breathe though, that could be a consideration in why they haven't done this.

Hmm, at work we use blacklight to avoid this problem. It is darker, but it doesn't reflect the fog like white light does. I see what you mean though, bright white lights are not viable if fog was used.

I don't think so... we have metal, plastic, carpet, computers etc. exposed to fog 24/7 at work and I've never seen maintenance required because of fog. It's very inert stuff. Just a nice colloidal suspension exhibiting the Tyndall effect

I'm sure it will be a cool effect but it will make it hard for people with asthma to breathe. Disney tries to make their attractions available for everyone...this would knock out a lot of potential riders.

Is it really that big of a problem? I see 1000+ people a night sometimes and none of them have ever complained about the fog.

I actually don't have asthma. It's only fog machines that bug me.

...I also have never been to a laser tag facility I discovered it during school dances and concerts. They'd blow the fog and instantly I had to find somewhere with clean air.
