I went to Canada's Wonderland this weekend and they have a coaster called Behemoth... never fails to scare the heck out of me on the way up that hill haha. It's SO much fun and every time I get off I think about how I LOVE LOVE LOVE Disney and it makes me oh so happy inside, but they don't have a ride there that comes even CLOSE to giving me that much of a thrill. Sooooo much fun!

I don't just hate spiderman i hate ALL "superheroes"
since i havent seen any of the spiderman movies ON PURPOSE...why would i want to ride through his "world"?
the fact that superheoes appeal to anyone over the age of 11 is a wonder to me but i know i'm different
im a crab
i feel similarly about harry potter
i havent read the books
i've only seen snippets of the movies when they were free on basic cable but they aren't interesting to me
so i don't plan on visiting hogfarts or whatever its called
ps i love thrill rides...the hulk is dumb but the coaster named after it is good

Re: Disney vs. Universal: The Never Ending Debate
That makes sense I guess. Similarly I've known lots and lots of people who went to Disney and hated it because they hate Disney cartoons (or they won't even both going), but they love Universal because they love comics and Jurassic park or whatever. To each his own. I love Harry Potter enough to go to Universal (even if I didn't like Universal on previous trips I would go now). But yes, if you hate it you won't have fun. I like all their lands to be honest... I had a lot of fun in Seuss landing and the water rides in the "comics" land was fun (not superhero comics, more like sunday morning comics). Some people hate the Dinosaur area of Animal Kingdom but still go because they like the rest of the park...

Well hey, I guess there's a benefit to not having themes that are as well-done as Disney
The rides can be good even if you hate the theme.

its all very subjective

I enjoy the Peter Pan ride in MK. I don’t remember if I ever saw the movie, if I did it was years and years ago. I have no particular love or even memory of the Character of Peter Pan, but I think it is a great ride.

But you don't HATE Peter Pan.
I HATE Spiderman...the less I see of him, the better.

According to your post, you hate "all" superheroes, therefore you "hate" the Hulk. Therefore using your logic how can you consider the ride "good"?

Re: Disney vs. Universal: The Never Ending Debate
The Hulk is just a green rollercoaster...the hulk decorations isnt what the ride is about
its about speed and inversions
spiderman is about the characters, which you may have noticed, I dislike.

Re: Disney vs. Universal: The Never Ending Debate
By that reasoning, Tower of Terror is just a free fall ride with some stuff about Twilight Zone before the drops and Big Thunder Railroad is just a coaster. If you ignore the theme to the rides, they give up much of their appeal. BTW, are you saying that you would enjoy Spiderman if it were themed around Mickey Mouse?

Re: Disney vs. Universal: The Never Ending Debate
I'm done. I'm not going to debate what i like and don't like.
it's subjective and you're trying to make it a formula

You're entitled to your opinion and you don't HAVE to like Super Heroes, but someone who posts on a board for Walt Disney World shouldn't "wonder" why Super heroes or anything for that matter would appeal to anyone over the age of 11. It seems a little hypocritical to me.

Haha, I never thought of it like that. I enjoy Winnie the Pooh, and that's I'm sure less "socially acceptable" for an adult to like than superheros. I mean, the last batman movies were awesome and for sure NOT geared towards kids.

Re: Disney vs. Universal: The Never Ending Debate
all ill say here is that all Universal has going for it these days is Harry Potter...and considering they have an entire land devoted to Disney characters (Marvel) these days i think is awesome...

Re: Disney vs. Universal: The Never Ending Debate
LOL true. I sometimes think buying Marvel was Disney's answer to Harry Potter.
Mickey: Sure, you can have your Harry Potter, but now you gotta pay US to use Spider-Man! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!
