Disco Yeti hits the Orlando Sentinel!

There's a new article from the Sentinel about the B-mode Yeti.

I have to agree. I have watched you tube videos of former imagineers and cast members talk about Walt and how he was a stickler doing it right! I think if he were alive today, it would be fixed in a heartbeat!

I have rode Everest with the Yeti in both modes, and it is a huge difference. The first time I saw "B mode" or "disco Yeti" I was shocked. At first, it was hard to tell if it was even the same animatronic or just a large stuffed animal. I was suprised that the article did not mention the outside vendor Disney used for the first time to build this animatronic. I have heard that company has since gone out of business. I never expected Disney to outsource critical functions just to save a few bucks.

Do you think news coverage of this might finally get them to consider fixing the dang thing? Maybe news coverage of Lights of Winter (or lack thereof) might have been a good thing too.

I heard that the Disney Spokespeople said that they can get 2000 people on and off that ride in an hour, and because its such a big hit, they wont close it to refurb yet. My mom was telling me about an article she read which said this. I'll find it later on....

Anywhoo, i believe they should fix EE, I mean come on, its DISNEY for crying out loud, everything they do is held to a higher standard, so they need to fix this, or they're just being lazy! Just fix the Yeti so the "Disney Difference" is back to where it needs to be.

I imagine though people will be pretty upset if it does go down for a lengthy refurb. And you thought TSMM refurb was bad.

I can see why Disney wouldn't want to close it. It's the big headliner to AK and without it people wouldn't be as darn to the park. It's a business decision which kind off is showing Disney's philosophy which is depressing in my books. I doubt they are going to do any changes anytime soon.

The last time I was in the park and rode EE, Mr. Yeti was in 'B' mode and a kid, maybe 9 or 10, exited the ride ahead of me and said that ride wasn't so good. "They didn't even have a Yeti!".
