Walt Disney: One Mans Dream

Hi Folks

I notice that OMD was close until Nov 2. Does anyone know what they are doing to it? Is it just a repaint thing or adding stuff, etc?

My youngest son (12 now) just loves that place when we were there in '07 & '08.

Thanks

Rick R.

well having just been there... all theyve done so far is put up the wooden walls around the entrance... the sign above is still there... but i would imagine if its going to be down until Nov. 2nd... its probably a goner...

If that's really the case, I cannot believe they would get rid of OMD and keep Prince Caspian. Hopefully they're just using this refurb for beautification or adding some sweet artifacts.

Sure Walt in 4d (joking)

really hope its not a goner as you said. My son really looks forward to that attraction and with his autistic tendencies it won't go well if its gone. We are there Nov 1- 7 (short trip because of the kids school schedule)

Thanks for the replies

Cheers

Re: Walt Disney: One Mans Dream

If it is gone, this is really sad. It seems the only thing Disney wants to add to Parks these days are “thrill rides” that you can get at any theme park. “Oh look, another roller coaster, how exciting!!” One of my favorite places to go to relax and enjoy some great historic animation was the little theatre at the back of Exposition Hall. I heard they removed it to have more room for meet and greets. Wow, that’s something I’ve never seen at WDW before /sarcasm off.

Re: Walt Disney: One Mans Dream

I was under the impression that it was purely closed for a refurbishment, as opposed to the dreaded Refurbishment Of No Return? One Man's Dream is one of my favourite attractions at the entire resort; it would be tragic on so many levels to lose such an important piece of its identity and spirit.

Re: Walt Disney: One Mans Dream

we spoke about this on another thread... thought this one was dead... they are keeping one mans dream... but they are adding artifacts from the parks... not just from Walt himself... they are opening the building up more...

Per tweets from StitchKingdom, the D23 staff got a sneak peek - it is definitely still there, and "50% new".

Re: Walt Disney: One Mans Dream

Doconeil, this is great news. I would hate to see one of my favorite attractions do away. 50% new is good news.
