Yes you can. It may take a little while to do all that you want to do, but it can be done. You do not have to get into the MK to be able to ride the monorail.
When we arrive at WDW our first day we will have all day to swim and kill time.I would like our kids ride the monorail and see the resorts on the monorail, my question is....can you take wdw transportation to the magic kingdom..get on the resort monorail and go to the G.F., poly...contemporary And then back to m.k. To get a bus back to our resort all star music or downtown Disney?
I'm sure if one wanted they could ride the monorail all day for free correct?
Even to epoct.
I ask this because using Disney transport.....you don't need to ride the monorail from the ttc to m.k.
My kids want to ride the monorail....and so do I!

We've done it on days we weren't going to the parks. It's good free fun.

Love sitting on the monorail and just riding it to nowhere. It's fun going into Epcot with it. It's neat going through the Contemporary. It's just plain fun and relaxing.

I don't know if things have changed, but about 4 years ago we stopped at the Polynesian and got off (even though we were staying at All Star Music). We had a great afternoon walking around their resort and the kids played in the squirting thing by the pool.

We went from MK to Poly to eat at Ohana and that's what we did. We ate, watched the fireworks from the beach and then rode it back to MK to catch the bus to our resort. The beach is a good place to watch the fireworks and you can see the Electric Water Pageant too. It's really neat. This could be something to do the first night.
We just did this last month. We were in town for 1 day and rather than spend the money to go into the park for a couple hours we just went to the Grand Floridian and used the Monorail to see the other resorts to see the holiday decorations...no questions asked. Have fun!
Day 1 WDW Radio
Keep to the code
Easy to do and visit the other resorts. If spending an afternoon doing this, try grabbing a snack at one of the resorts.
This is what my family does the first day thereand maybe if we have time do it on the last day to say goodbye till next yr
