Re: Does Marvel belong in the parks?

i'm biased in my opinion, as i love marvel superheros!! ever since i was a little kid i have always loved spidey, cap, thor, iron man, etc. for me it goes disney first, then marvel. but just think how much money disney could make off marvel even if it was just like a stunt show at DHS, parade, or even an dark ride. disney needs to attract more teenage males and young boys, pirates and cars isn't enough. and let's face it u wouldn't think that star wars would fit so well with disney, and look! what a huge money maker, and great events and attractions. why not the same from marvel?

I have a lot of geeky friends who were all going "GRAAAAAAH! NOT DISNEY!!!" when new broke out that the kiddie drivel-producing Disney had bought their precious Marvel.

At the same time I was going "GRAAAAAAH! NOT MARVEL!!!" because I didn't want Wolverine in the Magic Kingdom. XD

After sleeping on it a few nights....Wolverine in DHS? Yeah I could go with that. I think as long as they don't surpass the Pixar characters (which I think is very VERY unlikely) it's not going to bother me.
Gotta love a duck in uniform.

That, and I can remember when they first introduced 'em there.

I agree completely....Like I and others have said my fear isn't that introducing the Marvel Superheroes in DHS would ruin Disney it is that it may ruin the Marvel Superheroes.

But if they stick to the well known characters such as Captain America, Spiderman, Iron Man, Thor, Fantastic 4 and maybe some of the X-Men like Storm, Cyclops and Wolverine then I don't have a problem with it because they have already been mass marketed. I know that Disney would never change the core Marvel product because that would flush $4 Billion dollars down the drain. I just fear that Tony Stark would become less of a womanizer, Captain America would become less of a patriot
and Wolverine would become a fun loving teddy bear.

A DHS parade and a Marvel weekend would be beyond amazing, I personally would geek out and definitely dress up as Moon Knight or Colossus and attend

I like comics and get them on a monthly basis (mostly Marvel), and my opinion is they do not belong in the parks. I know what Disney is trying to do by owning Marvel but I just don't see the parks being a good stage for the characters. Like others have said if they are coming to the parks keep them at DHS, but I would hate to see Marvel showing up at MK or Epcot.

Nuh-uh! They should NOT be in the parks. No way no how. Maybe-JUST maybe-a show in MGM, but that's it. No more.

Getting back to the parks. With the exception of Expedition Everest I don't think Disney has produced an attraction as good as the Spiderman ride over at IOA.

I've been on both Spiderman as well as the Haunted Mansion and I can say with certainty, to me, the Haunted Mansion is a superior ride. It's all just a matter of opinion.
