It is truly the egomaniac who quotes himself, but here is what I posted in a thread about "most overrated attractions". I still feel this way, and always will.
"Animal Kingdom: Primeval Whirl is fairly overrated. I don't understand why Disney, and other major theme parks, are so in love with the idea of creating cheap-looking replicas of carnival midways. Well, I do understand it ($$$$$). Regardless, I always hate these areas of theme parks. I don't go to the fair when it is in town, and I don't care to spend $75/day to visit one while on vacation. That said, lots of folks love PW, but I just don't care for the standard "Virginia Reel" type of coasters. I was also a bit disappointed with the Nemo musical, but I'm sure Nemo fans love it."

Can't believe I'm about to say this but..........it kinda seems/feels like............Six Flags! Which is ok in it's own right, but needless to say, pales in comparrison to Disney. I agree that Disney could and should come up with something better.

Well Primeval has had multiple dates for coming out of rehab. September 11, 14 and the 15th being the most common.
Primeval Whirl, which has been closed since January 2011, was seen testing Monday. The refurbishment is expected to be completed and reopening on September 15 2011 now.
Yet Screamscape is reporting from their "sources" that it might not open until September 20th or so..........

I had read yesterday that it was being tested. What the heck were they doing for 9-10 months anyway????

I'm sure you are right, no telling how long OSHA had it shut down either.
They were very tight lipped about this accident, easier to be silent when the ride was in the middle of rehab than when an attraction is open to guests.

I like the ride myself but as stated above - a short queue then I will ride... longer I wont bother. I also dont think it fits with the park so I say replace. As to duration spent at AK couple of hours sees me done now...

I have to say i really love this ride, although not the carnival area around it. I would be extremely sad if they replaced it (probably the only one!!) but for me i love going on and watching whoever i am with get thrown about
