Main St. is, of course, the place to be for both. However, if you don't like the crowds (who does?!) and want a to make sure you get a good spot up front and not jumping over someone's head, Frontierland usually has a lot less people for the parade. My favorite two places to view the fireworks are the Terrace resturaunt in Tomorrowland or running backwards toward the busses in order to beat the crowds and not have to wait 2 hours for a bus ride back to your resort. You can still hear it and see it, and you are on one of the first busses out of there :-)

Re: Best Spot for Viewing EP & Wishes?

    Thanks so much DopeyDancer87.

I'm thinking Main Street or your Tomorrowland Terrace spot. We're going to catch both our first night (Sunday) of our 11 night stay and MK has EMH so we won't have to worry about busses since we'll be staying in the park after Wishes.

I just wasn't sure if there was a particular spot on Main Street that was better than others. I am an old DL fan and I remember how fun it was back in the old days to grab a spot on the curb on DL Main Street and wait for the EP and fireworks.

    I'm getting excited!

We usually try and grab a spot on the edge of Main St about halfway down for the parade and then move into the centre of Main St just before the hub for Wishes. I usually then let everyone rush to leave the park and I take an easy stroll once the crowds have gone or stay for EMH and maybe the Kiss Goodnight (not that I've managed to stay up that late YET!!)

My advice is to concentrate on finding a good spot for the parade. Obviously, Main Street is going to be much more crowded so depending on what time you want to start waiting, head to liberty square / frontierland. I say this because it is much easier to find a spot to view wishes. If you want a seated position just in front of the castle, you need to get there early; however, you can walk up and find a place to stand at the last minute

For me there are great spots in Frontierland by the shootin arcade or near the breezeway to adventureland... For Wishes I have always liked standing in front of Crystal Palace because the view is awesome and it is generally the last place to fill up...

As a side note on the Tomorrowland Terrace piece... before you plan to do that, check to see if it's a night that the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Party is happening (which is nearly every night). I say that because, unless you're booked for it, both the crowd of 200 people in the reserved space of the terrace and the people trying to use that area as a cut-through to/from Tomorrowland/Mainstreet can make it one of the worst possible spots to try to be.
Sometimes all you need is a reminder that out there lies a better place... a better world... a Walt Disney World.

While Main St USA is the most popular area to watch the fireworks, I really enjoy being ou tof the parks to watch Wishes. This past spring, a friend and I visited teh world without even going into the parks and came across a great idea--eat dinner and then ride the monorail around to the polynesian resort. This allows for a beautiful view of wishes (they even pipe in the wishes audio over the speakers along the beachfront). We both grabbed a refreshing Dole Whip and relaxed in the beach chairs. It truly was one of the most magical view of wishes I have ever had!

We have always had good luck with the Frontierland / Liberty Square area. DW hits that Christmas shop while we are waiting.

Best spot to see Wishes for me was always walking back to my resort, well away from the crowds trying to get out of the park!

Agreed. Next to Casey's there are bathrooms, and in front of them there's a good spot for standing. And if you time it right, it makes for a good escape down Main Street in at most moderate crowds.

Once watched SpectroMagic then the fireworks way back when from the sled outside the Christmas store in Liberty Square...needless to say, that was quite a late night.
