I actually phrased that quite poorly. I recently read the Epcot encyclopedia that covered the history of all Epcot attractions and I think that room is where guests are "held" while others are behind in the Dinosaur room and new guests are boarding in the load / unload room.
Hi Rick! So your question is actually quite perceptive... This room used to house large video monitors and maps of the world showing current and future energy resources around the world. It's function was very much what it is today (a sort of holding room as the vehicles caught up with each other after their trip through the diorama).
