    Disney to allow beards

Just read, after 60 years, Disney is going to allow theme park employees at its two U.S. theme-park resorts - including its more than 60,000 workers at Walt Disney World - grow beards or goatees. What do you think?

I think it's about time for Disney to move into the 21st century... I don't see it as an issue...

As long as it fits in their "neatly trimmed" guideline I have no problem with either. As long as it isn't this:

And here is the story that Keasmon just posted on another thread:

Disney beards: After nearly 60 years, Disney World workers can finally grow beards - ktla.com

    Very strict criteria.

    I'd prefer they didn't.

I think beards have become a part of our culture. Beards have almost become synonymous with friendly people in a way I think.

Certainly you'd have to keep it clean and maintained but I see nothing wrong with it.

I think about bikers, hipsters, and hillbillies when I see most beards. Friendliness isn't one of the things brought to my mind.

No. (He's dead) I'm thinking about current beard-wearers.

I say "About time!" When I worked at the Disney Store I had a manager who thought that it was odd that a company founded by a man with a mustache had a ban on facial hair.

    Re: Disney to allow beards

Disney is very finicky about the hair atop the CM's hair, the color of their braces on their teeth, ear rings, tattoos. With the 1/4" guideline for beards length, neat, professional and fully grown in...I'm doubting many CM's will be sporting one. Can you just imagine keep'n it to that 1/4" on a daily basis? But then again I do not have a real frame of reference, it just seems to add another layer of stuff to do, to go to work.

Exactly. If Osama Bin Laden, Ulysses S. Grand and Henry VIII didn't have have beards, they would still be with us today.
