I dont think that it is that bad. It is kind of nice and not to mention a little traditional to the Disney Land tour guide Costume.

Ok people, so for those of us that hasn't seen these so-called "horrible" costumes, someone please post some pics,or a link to go to to see them! How can I comment on them if I haven't seen them? Come on now, all of us want to play in the ball game,but we need to be put in the game! I await the pics!

They look like they'd fit well at Columbia Harbour House.
The guy's suit doesn't really look all that bad. The lady's...definitely could be better.
Still think they're going for a more "military" look, though.

Harsh I am, that women's CM's costume is yuck. I appreciate why the CM's were not amused with this wardrobe change.Well, sloppy might be a bit harsh.

I agree that the mens costume has a cleaner look to it. Harsh or not, the ladies costume just doesn't work.
The suit is very Nancy Reagan, the shirt doesn't work with that era of suit and the collar, how could you look neat? I don't get the the tie scarf thing, sloppy unlike the men's version. Nothing in that costume goes together. It is just messy. Disney's press release was to go with a modern look. There is nothing modern about that look.
I guess I expect better for the American Pavilion. A bit of class out of their costuming department for the ladies.
I kinda get the flight attendant thing. In my younger days Flight Attendants were neatly dressed. Frankly, FA's are not what they once were so I understand the comparison.

However, I think I'm more baffled by their choice of models over the choice of costumes. Those were the two best people they could find for the picture?
Really, Walt? Disneyland is MY land? Why would I want a silly little land when I can have the WORLD.

Those are actual CM's on duty. This is how they show up to work which I actually like better than a model or a mannequin cause this is the first impression the Guests have as they walk into the building vs the old world look prior. I question suits in general as a CM costume. Men are easier size into a suit, shirt and tie. Suits for women are always tricky to fit and add in a skirt, which length should be adjusted to height it is a bag of worms. The funky collar coupled with a strange ribbon like scarf and sleeve length of a suit that isn't fitted properly you get this sloppy look.
Business world or CM's, suits that are poorly fitted or paired with disheveled ties and shirts are quickly noticed anywhere. We've all seen people in suits they have outgrown or poorly fitted. It is just an odd choice for Disney Costuming to go with let alone a women's suit style long out of style, thus my Nancy Reagan/Aunt Bea comments. The dresses they had the CM's costumed in before adapted better to various body types and looked good on both larger built woman and those with slighter builds. Plus there wasn't the questions of what is the intent of costume, flight attendant, military, cruise director.
