Lunch lines for Be Our Guest

OK, so who has been recently to MK and has had an opportunity to stand in or see or who has heard any info about the line at BOGR for lunch? More specifically who has an info about the lines after Spring Break. We are going soon and my daughters and my wife are very excited to eat there. We weren't able to score dinner reservations so our only hope is lunch or a dinner spot due to a cancellation.

We are also going with a group of four birthday celebrators and are hoping to be able to convince a server to let them try the grey stuff.

They problem is still, guests are queuing up 1-2 hours in advance of lunch, much like Fanstasmic. The one consistent recommendation I've heard is to eat lunch later and the line is better or non-existent.

Good luck with the Grey Stuff, depending on the wait staff and the number of people at the table, sometimes they bring a couple of dabs. Wear those buttons! Last year when I was at the World for my Birthday, we were leaving and the bus driver asked everyone for their attention. Then proceeded to tell them it was Gabe's Birthday today, lets all wish her a happy birthday and proceeded to sing....more attention than I am comfy with and the button went bye-bye!

but they still bring a smile to my face when I push them down a flight of stairs.

David and I had something similar happen to us last April while celebrating our 15th Wedding anniversary there. A bus driver noticed our anniversary buttons and announced how many years and had everyone cheer and clap for us. It was cute but a little embarrassing. I'm really hoping to get to eat at Be Our Guest , with or without the grey stuff!

Yeah, Happy Birthday was sweet here and there from folks and CMs. Happy Birthday on Bus, yikes! But that is what I get for wearing the button, but my DS took me into City Hall to get one, so I did.

We're going to make our own grey stuff one of these upcoming weekends. We want to see what all the fuss is about.

Did you find a recipe for it online? I did and will try it once we get back.

The actual taste of the grey stuff doesn't interest me much, to me it adds to the experience and theme of the restaurant. It has to be delicious though, the song says so!

Yes, I found it online. There's actually a video on YouTube as well. My wife and I are foodies, so we're always on the lookout for something new and interesting to make.

I'm a foodie too and I watched the video. I also want to try out the Dole Whip recipe from the same recipe lady.

I have a Disney cookbook I got on a previous trip. I love the Key Lime Pie recipe and make it as often as I can.

I make the stew from the Original Chef Mickey's in DTD, meatloaf from Primetime, Jambalaya from Bonfamille at Port Orleans, before they turned it into a test kitchen, the first recipe for Canadian Cheese Soup, though it is a tad time consuming. And the brown gravy from Liberty Tree Tavern, I've perfected this one and dang is it good. I'm sure there are a few more, this summer I'm going to work on the drinks from the world showcase now that I have all their recipes. Hiccup.

I have many of the recipe books but my favorites are from #1 & #2.

We make a mean No Way Jose.

And though it sounds odd, I'd love to make the macaroni and cheese from Liberty Tree.

We've also made the tourtière that they use to serve at Le Cellier back when it was a cafeteria style joint.

I made the grey stuff this past week. I picked up the wrong pudding. Recipe called for instant and dummy me picked up cook and serve. Tastes like melted cookies and cream ice cream and had the same consistency. After a couple of days in the fridge it firmed up a bit. I'm sure it will be more mousse like when I make it next time using the correct ingredients.

    Bonehead.

We still haven't made it yet, but it's in the "to be cooked" queue.
