    MGM Ride Idea

While listening to this weeks podcast they were talking about the ride they were putting in place of Who Wants to be a Millionaire. What about a ride kind of like the Great Movie Ride but with all of the Disney Movies, it would start with Snow White and end with Cars or a non Pixar movie. Am I just insane for thinking this, or is it a good idea?

That would be great. Have been watching all the older Disney films recently, from Alice to the Little Mermaid, and they are still so good. The music is excellent in many of them as well and would make a great backing track to a ride.

The only problem with that is that alot of the great disney movies are already represented in the parks. Like Peter Pan, Snow White and the pixar movies. It would be cool if they did it for movies not represented though.

another problem is that they should probably add a new twist to it. nobody likes 2 of the exact same rides. thats sorta like Dumbo and Aladdin (not that they arent good)

All I've heard is a Toy Story ride, but thought of this idea, and maybe you never know who might read the message boards or how set in stone a Toy Store ride is.

While I love Toy Story. it has a ride, kinda, but the Toy Story ride would fit better by Al's Toy Barn and wasn't there a rumor that they were clearing trees behind Al's Toy Barn.

I think there should be a ride on the history of Mickey Mouse. Going through scenes of classic Mickey Mouse moments would be AWESOME!

That would be aweseome to have a disney character only great movie ride, it could go through classic disney films and you would feel like you were in the movies, i would love that ride!!

If they can bring a toystory ride in that is similar to Spider Man, at the park down the street, it would do really well. Plus Disney keeps on talking about how they are trying to stay up to date with technology. This would be a perfect place to show off some new ride technology.

Obviously, they've already decided what to put in place of Millionaire since you originally wrote this. However, I absolutely love this idea. My children have fond feelings for The Little Mermaid, Buzz and Woody, Hercules, The Hunchback, the Monsters Inc. characters and so many more of the modern characters. They do not have fond feelings for the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse or the Tiki Room, or any of the "1960-70's era" rides. Why not put all of the modern ones in one place? But, instead of putting them at MGM, why not replace that tired, old Jungle Cruise at the MK?

    Anyway, I love your idea.

Replace the Jungle Cruise!?!? Bite your tongue! It is scheduled to have some refurbishments in 2007, but it's an original and cannot be taken away IMHO. My oldest Son is 6 and LOVES both the Tiki Room and Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, he loves the movie and pretends he's in it when we go to Adventureland. I have raised my children to love the Disney Classics as much (if not more) than the new movies.
