It isn't free anymore Mandy.... For awhile now the Magic Kingdom was the only place it was still free, but now they are charging there as well. We had 3 pairs of ears done while we were there in June and the cost was $2 for each hat.

Melissa, was that at Le Chapeau (hat shop in town square) or elsewhere in the park? And was it done on the hand-guided machines or computerized?

It was at Le Chapeau and they still use the hand machines there.

Ugh that stinks!! When I went in September, it was free. Guess I was one of the last lucky few...

that's good to know, I was going to get ears and have my name put on, but I'll have to think about paying $2 to put 3 letters onto the back of ears. I'm not trying to be cheap, I have a pink pair from when I was 4th birthday and it has my first name on them, but I thought about getting a black pair for my 20th birthday but really don't need to put my middle name on them. all I'll do is maybe wear them for an hour or so and then sit them on a shelf in my scraproom next to my brothers.

I thought they have a new machine so no more embrodering by hand anymore. I dunno how much the ears are. I got 2 pairs, one for me, one for my best friend Holly. The yellow ones. I luv my ears, they're in my room next to the black ones I got my 1st trip in 2001. 5 yrs since my 1st trip to WDW. How things have changed since September 11th. God Bless America!
