In an effort to allow for more riders on rides that have recently increased in popularity, such as Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion, Disney will be implementing a new virtual ride experience opportunity. Those guests wishing to experience the ride without having to wait in line can do so by entering through a special door, putting on a virtual reality helmet and jumping into a ride vehicle on hydraulics.

Disney has long been aware of online Disney communities such as this one. After an exhaustive search and review process, they decided the members of DWT were most worthy. Worthy of what you ask? Why free Lifetime Passes of course and their own Deluxe resort to use.

In a press release received by the Orlando Sentinel this morning it was announced that Disney has sold all of their resorts to InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG). Each resort will be rebranded as Holiday Inn Express so guests will be able to say "No, I'm not a Cast Member, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night."

In an effort to maximize the Hannah Montana craze, Disney will make an attraction called the Achy-Breaky Life of Miley and it will be a ride thru look at her growing up years, early fame and current concert footage. It will be a seperate admission fee, but there will be multiplex style seating to accomadate up the 500 people at a time. Plans for a Hannah Musical production are in the works and Pooh's playful spot is looking like the best place to make Hannah Land for all of these new attractions and boutiques so guests can turn their little one into Hannah for the day. The new area will also feature a Southern Style Buffett with fried chicken, greens, cornbread and Banana Pudding (Nanner puddin if you were born here). Opening is schduled for mid 2009.

It has just been announced that Lou Mongello has been approached to be an honorary cast member. The Disney Corporation felt that the WDWRadio pod-casts and the DisneyWorldTrivia website promoted the type of information and dedication to detail that Disney would like to see in other Disney related websites and broadcasts. What this will mean for future locations for pod-casts or other media deals was left unclear. Whether this will eventually evolved into a paid position was also left unanswered by representatives for both sides.

After complaints from angry parents about It's a Small World, they have decided to give ear plugs out. The cast members said that while it would help with the ride, what happens after wards, is another story.

In a side note, Peter Pan's Flight will now "Enter Sandman" blast through out the ride.

In order to accomodate more FTW's at Disney, the WDW family will now offer marriage services at High noon at preferred locations and Sunset Services at preferrred locations throughout the 4 main parks. Most days the services will be at park icon attractions but you can register for special attractions and go on a waiting list, when enough couples sign up for say, Main Street Station, they will call all of them in and perform the service. This will allow more people to have their dream, and give guests at the parks more reason to celebrate. Look for ads to start in mid-March to tie in with the YOAMD.

This morning Disney announced permanent closure of Spaceship Earth after initial reviews of the newly revamped attraction came in so poor. Instead the sphere will be gutted and replaced with a living representation of the MC Escher "stairs" picture. Guests will not be able to enter the attraction but a large LCD will be posted outside the entrance as proof of what's inside.

Word on the street is for X amount of money you can play Tinker Bell at night before Wishes. They'll strap you in the harness and off you'll fly from the castle. Lou has signed up to do this this weekend.
