The double decker buses that used to circle the World Showcase Lagoon were each named after a different world city. Name 2 of the 6 cities

It blows my mind that there were that there were even that many busses, I always assumed it was just two or three... and they had names!, I never knew that! what a great piece of trivia! This will have to make it onto my site , near the UK pavillion card that has the bus on it (and I need to look to see if the name is visable on the bus in the postcard as well!)

    Here's the page:
    http://www.bigbrian-nc.com/wdw-pc38.htm

    and here's the exact card:

I don't see the name. then again theres not any lettering on the bus perhaps this is a very early picture. Was there other lettering on the busses? I only saw them used to move characters around the WS, One of the reasons I sassumed there were only a few oOmnibusees was the claims made that the MK omnibuses dissapeared for a number of years after the opening of Epcot like this one from Widen Your World:

The most imposing of the Main Street Vehicles fleet, the Omnibus was a popular means of traveling from Town Square to the Hub - although sitting on the bottom was kind of like being directed to the center cushion on a Jungle Cruise boat (you lose). The photo to the left, shot in 1971, provides a rare early glimpse of the vehicles without the side panel advertising art for park attractions. The buses went missing from the Magic Kingdom (although used at Epcot's World Showcase) in the 1980s but returned in 2001.

I emailed Mike and let him know that I rode the omnibus in May of 98, so he may change that soon...

I rode the omnibus on main street in 1998 it's in the trip report from May 10 of that year (my birthday), there are a few pictures taken From my seat on the upper deck of the omnibus (five of them ,a little over halfway down the page, just below the pictures of the wishing well)

unfortunately I took no pictures Of the bus

We now return to our regularly scheduled Epcot trivia thread sorry for the long digression

...and a lovely diversion it was. I never did ride the buses around the lagoon - I was never that relaxed to stop and smell the scenery. Had to go, go, go and constantly do all the attractions. Twice. Now that I'm a few years older I didn't mind my last trip's leisurely stroll 'round the lagoon in the morning. YIKES - did I just say that? Hmm... must have been the all-u-can-eat breakfast buffet I had just before Mission:Space. A leisurely stroll felt good. Would have taken the bus, though!

    Moving on...

This was originally planned for Epcot, wherein you could view a film on animals from the "top of a tree", among other things.

    What is (was) it?
