    the driveway???
    Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things... and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths. - Walt Disney

    I'll (sort-of) give it too ya:

    Fantasyland station = Drive
    Grand Prix 'station' = ?
    Tomorrowland station = ?

    (Any other ski-buffs out there that grew up on chair lifts???)

    Another hint - what happened at the middle station (wrt car and cable???)

    The SkyWay ride had 3 stations - one at each end, and in the middle.
    By what "technical" names were these stations known as by the CMs (referring to the mechanical functions of the ride) ???

    Answer:
    Fantasyland = Drive station
    Speedway = ??? station
    Tomorrowland = ??? station
    OK. This is fun doing it myself .
    At the middle station, the car left the cable, rolled along the track while the cable changed direction, and transferred back onto the cable.
    (That's a clue! )

    Yes, just as you all guessed , the middle station is/was known as the Transfer station.

    I'll give you ONE MORE CHANCE!!!

    Sparky, I'm going to hold off on answering your question until Craig finishes up his question.
    But people seem to be more interested in Survivor threads than they are trivia questions!

    1) OK, well, um, not really. I guess I'll just punt on the SKYWAY question!

    Everyone pay attention: The drive motor for the Skyway was at Fantasyland station, then in the middle station where the cable changed directions the car had to leave the cable - or transfer off then on again, AND at the Tomorrowland station there were massive weights - inside the cage that was between the load and unload areas was a large 'trough' that contained lead weights to apply tension to the cable and cars.
    Now you know.

    2) Please continue with Sparky's question above.

    3) Dzneynut - Survivor threads, what are those??? (I thought I heard crickets chirping around here). Let us all never forget "our" site-name: disneyworldTRIVIA , not disneyworldSURVIVOR !

    I just have to answer this one!
    The space was originally slated as the Asian Resort. The name of the road persisted as Asian Way, until the Floridian was built - and subsequently changed to Floridian Way. (see sketches here: http://home.cfl.rr.com/omniluxe/asian.htm )

    Correct! The very first "closing" on property. (located on Buena Vista Boulevard)
