RUNNING-TEAM-600

Join the Team now!

In 2007, on a dare, Lou Mongello challenged himself to run a half marathon. And let’s be clear… he was NOT a runner. At all.

But in January, 2008, that dream became a reality and he crossed the finish line of his first Walt Disney World Half Marathon.

“If Lou can do it, so can I!!!” was an unintentional rallying cry, and many others in the WDW Radio community began to run. Whether it be for health, personal accomplishment, camaraderie or just for fun, this dare became a team… and a family.

Today, we have more than 600 members from around the world. And we all run with the same focus purpose – to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America through our Dream Team Project. It is our goal to for your help to make a profound difference in the lives of children and their families by making a child’s dreams of going to Walt Disney World come true.

And we want YOU to be a part of this!

Whether you have run 100 times or are just thinking of getting off the couch. It doesn’t matter if you’re fast or slow, walk, run, wog, jog, wheel, or even cheer… YOU can be a part of the Team, fun, festivities, and philanthropy .

“How can I be a part of all of this?”, you ask?

To be a member of the WDW Radio Running Team you need to:

  • Join the team for a cost of $50, which covers all of your membership materials including Team (moisture wicking) logo shirts, headband, membership certificate and all shipping costs.
  • We ask that you commit to fundraising for the marathon at a minimum donation of $100 to Make-A-Wish Foundation of America through the Dream Team Project. You don’t have to raise or donate before you race, and your overall commitment can be for a couple, family, etc. and not for an individual. It’s on the “honor system” but is for an incredible cause.
  • Additional Team Shirts can also be purchased for Family members, be they runners or part of our Cheer Squad.

Team meet ups on Marathon Weekend take place each year, and Team Members can join the WDW Radio Running Team Facebook pageRegistered Members will also have access to our PRIVATE Facebook Group to share training progress and tips. Remember, none of our runners are professionals… we are taking it one step at a time just like you!

Together, let’s bring a smile to the face of children with serious illnesses and their families by sponsoring wishes through the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America

You can join the team as a runner or supporter by filling out the form below.
