Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to let your romantic side show, but at Walt Disney World, there are plenty of ways to be romantic any time of the year. Here are the must-dos for a romantic Disney trip:

Magic Kingdom:

Cinderella Castle- The gardens surrounding the castle are often filled with roses, and the beautiful mural inside illustrates Cinderella’s own love story.

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin- Although this ride tends to attract a younger audience, it is great for couples, too, since it recreates one of the most romantic scenes in Disney movie history.

Under the Sea- Journey of the Little Mermaid- If the “Kiss the Girl” scene and the finale wedding scene don’t put you in the mood for love, nothing will.

Celebrate the Magic- There is a section of this castle show dedicated to Disney’s greatest love songs and couples.

Be Our Guest Restaurant- Beauty and the Beast is one of the greatest love stories of all time, and here, you can recreate the night where Belle and the Beast finally fell in love.

Tony’s Town Square- Since Be Our Guest is a tough reservation to get, this restaurant is a nice alternative. Be sure to order spaghetti and share it Lady & the Tramp style.

Epcot

Soarin’- California is home to some of the most inspiring views in the world, and the seats are perfect for hand holding if you’re not gripping too tight to the handle bars.

Illuminations- This show’s theme is about coming together and always makes me so grateful for my loved ones after each viewing. Maybe it will make you feel the same way, too!

Les Chefs de France- They say that French is the language of love. Combine that with great food, and what could go wrong?

Le Cellier- The food here is delicious and the cellar setting makes a cozy atmosphere.

San Angel Inn Restaurante- This restaurant may be one of the most romantic Disney has ever created. No matter what time of day you choose to dine here, you will always be eating under the starlight, and the waterside view is a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of World Showcase.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The Great Movie Ride- This attraction features some of the most romantic scenes in movie history.

Beauty and the Beast- Live on Stage- This “tale as old as time” is sure to renew anyone’s faith in love.

The Hollywood Brown Derby- Dining here is like having a night out in old Hollywood; talk about a dream date!

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre Restaurant- The food here isn’t Disney’s finest, but the atmosphere is fun and brings back the days of drive-in movie theater dates.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Kilimanjaro Safaris- Channel your inner Carl & Ellie (one of Disney’s sweetest couples ever to be created) and believe that adventure is out there with this ever-exciting attraction.

Yak & Yeti Restaurant- This restaurant is beautiful inside, and some windows offer great views for parade and people watching. Dinner with a nice view always makes for a romantic meal.

Resorts

Disney’s Grand Floridian- In addition to the fact that this resort is absolutely gorgeous, it also boasts five table-service restaurants, a tea room, and a spa. It’s a perfect couples’ retreat.

Beach Club / Yacht Club / Boardwalk Inn / Swan & Dolphin- These hotels are located in walking distance to World Showcase, one of the best places to get a good, romantic meal and home to the Food & Wine Festival, and are connected to the Boardwalk. There is a dance hall and a dueling pianos bar there to make date night last until dawn.

Port Orleans French Quarter- This resort is beautiful and feels very secluded, and it is also only a boat ride away from Downtown Disney, the perfect place to have a romantic night out.

Just as Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to be romantic, going to Walt Disney World offers a wide variety of experiences to feel the love.

Hello and welcome to The WDW Radio Show – Your Walt Disney World Information Station. I am your host, Lou Mongello, and this is show #179 for the week of July 18, 2010.

Walt Disney World traces much of its roots to the original Disneyland in California. And with July 17 marking Disneyland’s 55th anniversary, it’s only appropriate that we take a look at how some of Disneyland’s origins have impacted Walt Disney World. Jim Korkis joins me again this week to share some of the true stories behind the stories, as we start in Fantasyland with Cinderella Castle and look back at exactly how and where Disneyland began. And Jim will share with us not just stories that have never been told before, but Walt’s own words that served as the proposal for what would be come Disneyland, and includes many amazing ideas that carried forward to become what we see today in Walt Disney World.

I’ll play more of your voicemails and have a few announcements at the end of the show, so sit back, relax, and enjoy this week’s episode of the WDW Radio Show.

Thanks for listening! Be sure to tune in next week!

Overnight in the Magic Kingdom, Live review of Mama Melrose’s, Wayback Machine – Plaza Swan Boats, New Contest and more!

Hello and welcome to The WDW Radio Show – Your Walt Disney World Information Station. I am your host, Lou Mongello and this is show #122 for the week of June 7, 2009. Thank you for tuning in once again

Much of the magic we enjoy about Walt Disney World is often subconscious, yet very important, including and especially the constant expectation and fulfillment of a place that is always neat, clean and incredibly manicured. But we as Guests never get to see what goes on after the parks have closed to really make that magic happen. Well this week, I’m going to try and help paint a picture of what goes on when the last Guest walks out of the gates, as I speak with managers of the horticultural and custodial cast. They explain just some of what goes on as the Magic Kingdom comes to new life overnight in the park.

I just returned from Walt Disney World for some more research and to cover another Star Wars Weekends, but of course while there, a man’s gotta eat, right? So this week I’m going to try and experiment with something new, and a bit different. Join me on a literal roundtable, as a group of friends and I do a live, on-the-spot dining review of Mama Melrose’s at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We’ll talk about the menu, review the food, and chat with our server, who shares some of the backstory of the restaurant.

It’s time to take a trip once again aboard my Walt Disney World Wayback Machine, as we’ll head back to the Magic Kingdom, but this time back in 1973, as we look at the graceful Plaza Swan Boats, which plied the waterways around Cinderella Castle.

I’ll have another Walt Disney World trivia contest this week, but this time, it’s just a little bit different – with a different format and an all-new prize.

Listen for more of your voicemails at the end of the show. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this week’s episode of the WDW Radio Show.

You can email the show at lou@wdwradio.com or call the voicemail TOLL FREE at 888-703-2171.

Thanks for listening! Be sure to tune in next week!
