This week I’m excited to share an interview with Disney Imagineer Jason Grandt. He shares his story of growing up being fascinated with Walt Disney World to joining Walt Disney Imagineering. we discuss many of Jason’s projects over the years, including a look into his role in helping to bring back the Orange Bird to Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom. We discuss the New Fantasyland, as well as memories of EPCOT Center, and Jason’s role in the upcoming 30th anniversary. Jason also shares some insight to those looking to become Imagineers themselves.

~Jason Grandt, The Imagineering Workout

We are so enjoying this new series, we thought we would draw some inspiration from a GREAT book by the Disney Imagineers called The Imagineering Workout.  In the upcoming weeks, we will share some quotes and ideas so we can all flex our wanna-be Imagineer muscles and share our own form of Disney daydreaming/storytelling.

For this week, we are going to consider a piece of furniture: specifically, this lamp of pink baubles! 

So, fellow wanna-be Imagineers, what is this lamp’s mission in the world of Imagineering?  Consider the questions below in thinking about it.

1. Where in the Disney parks (or resort hotels) might this lamp appear?

2. How would the lamp contribute to the story/theming of its home location?

3. If this lamp were to become animated, what would its personality be like?
