Shocking correspondence unearthed between two legendary figures of Disney history!

#Epcot30 may have come and gone, but the spirit of EPCOT Center is alive as ever as the Park enters its fourth decade of exposing families to the wonder of knowledge and the thrill of the future.

In fact, in an instance of utmost brilliant timing and superb luck, WDW Radio has gotten hold of a revelatory document that will surely drop the jaws of any Epcot fan.

See the image for an extremely unexpected, completely shocking message from Dreamfinder to the Orange Bird. Yes, that’s right: the extinct Dreamfinder from Epcot’s Journey Into Imagination has written for help to the once-extinct Little Orange Bird from the Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland. By all means, check out the image to the left (you can click on it to make it larger) and read for yourself what an astonishing marvel this occurrence is.

Of course, WDW Radio does not take condone intercepting others’ mail, but this case was an honest mistake of thinking the addressed envelope marked “Little Orange Bird” was a misprint meaning to read “Little Orange Nerd,” or Lou Mongello.

We contacted current members of the Imagination Institute, inquiring into their reactions to this news. “I haven’t heard from the Dreamfinder in years,” confided Dr. Nigel Channing, current holder-of-the-fort of the Journey Into Imagination ride. “Figment and I have been getting along swimmingly, and just assumed Dreamfinder was doing well. No news is good news, correct? But this, however, is news, and… well, I suppose only time will tell if anything becomes of it. The decision is entirely out of my control, though I wish Dreamfinder all the best. He’s quite a friendly chap, that one.”

Another Institute scientist went into further detail. “I knew Dreamfinder briefly back in the ‘90s,” said Professor Wayne Szalinsky. “We were neighbors and I never really got too close with him, but, I mean, if he wants to come back, then why not? My family and I loved being in the 3D demonstration for all those years, and even though that’s closed now, I’m still employed at the Institute—or, at least, I have an office… I should probably check in on that sometime. So if I can still be here, then I guess he can too, you know? Actually, come to think of it, that Dean Finder fella a few doors down from me seems sort of familiar. Maybe he’s been popping in sporadically without anybody knowing?”

Figment was not available for comment.

This is a truly historic day in the life of Epcot. Who knows what, if anything, may come of the discovery of this immaculate correspondence. All is now, apparently, the hands (wings?) of the Little Orange Bird in the sunshine tree.

Hello and welcome to The WDW Radio Show – Your Walt Disney World Information Station. I am your host, Lou Mongello, and this is show #271 for the week of April 22, 2012. Happy Earth Day and Happy Anniversary Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

One of the things I enjoy sharing on the show are interviews with people whose work in the Disney Parks you may enjoy, but whose names you may not know. From Imagineers to artists. performers and more, each has their own journey and stories to share. This week, I want to introduce you to Casey Jones, a Senior Character Artist for the Disney Design Group. A former comic book artist for Marvel, he now helps to create some of our favorite icons and merchandise in the parks and Disney Cruise Line. From Vinymlations and the Park Starz series, to the Muppets and recent re-introduction of nostalgic items like the Little Orange Bird, Casey shares how these items came to be, from their concept to production. We also discuss Marvel and Disney, what’s coming to Star Wars Weekends, advice for others, what we think or would like to see come next (including Avatarland), food, and much more.

I’ll have the answer and winner for last week’s Walt Disney World Trivia Question of the Week, and pose a new one for your chance to win a Disney prize package.

I’ll then play more of your voicemails at the end of the show. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this week’s episode of the WDW Radio Show.

Thanks for listening! Be sure to tune in next week!
