“Please stand clear of the doors… Por favor mantenganse alejado de las puertas…”

.. who is he?

Well, you’re right. If you’ve ever flown into Orlando and been to the Magic Kingdom, you probably have.

The early monorail spiels (including the parts in Spanish) were done by “The Voice of Disney,” Jack Wagner (no, not the actor from TV’s “General Hospital” soap opera)… During your journey on the “Highway in the Sky,” Jack Wagner gives a description of not only what you can see out your windows, but information about the parks and resorts, special events, and safety information.

During his more than twenty years with Disney, he also voiced many attractions for Disney, including the WEDway People Mover (now The Tomorrowland Transit Authority), in Space Mountain, the original voice of the Main Street Electrical Parade, and the introduction to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parade. In fact, many of his recordings were made in his Southern California home, where he had a recording studio that was connected to a voiceover booth in Anaheim. This way, whenever Disney needed an announcement, Jack could just sit at his microphone and the recording would be directly linked from his home to “Studio D” in Disneyland.

Jack is also the voice of another monorail that you probably have heard – in the Orlando International Airport
