  • The two odd-shaped pyramids are made up of hundreds of panes of mirrored glass. Inside the pavilion, you will find three attractions: "Journey Into Your Imagination", which takes you on an adventure with the lovable "Figment"; "The Image Works," a playground for your imagination; and "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience," an incredible 3-D film.
  • The Journey Into Imagination pavilion opened on October 1, 1982, with the 3-D film, "Magic Journeys," which examined the world through the eyes of children. The film closed on February 9, 1986, and was replaced by Michael Jackson’s "Captain EO" in September of that same year. On December 15, 1987, Magic Journeys was reopened when it moved to Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom , where it played until December 1, 1993 when it was replaced by the "Legend of the Lion King" show. The film was directed by Murray Lerner, an Oscar-winning director for his 1980 documentary film, "From Mao to Mozart: Isaac Stern in China ."
  • A longtime favorite of the original attraction, "Journey into Imagination," "Figment" was almost completely removed when the ride was closed for renovations in 1998. The ride reopened as "Journey Into Your Imagination," but after criticism from fans and bad reviews of the attraction itself, it closed once again. It reopened in 2002 as "Journey Into Imagination… With Figment," and our pal Figment got his old job back. Not quite the same (or as good) as the original, but we’re happy to have the little fella back in Epcot. As for his friend, the Dreamfinder, I hear he fell on hard times and can now be seen pumping gas on I-4.
  • Although the Journey Into Imagination pavilion opened on October 1, 1982 with the Magic Journeys film, the Journey Into Imagination RIDE didn’t open until March 5, 1983. The Journey Into Imagination ride closed in 1998 for renovation, and the pavilion was renamed simply "Imagination!" The ride later closed once again and reopened in June of 2002 as Journey Into Imagination with Figment.
