Walt Disney World News for the week of September 16, 2007

mousetimes.com/”>MouseTimeshas posted a great video he took of its current resting place. If you were a fan of the wand, it’s not for the faint of heart. End of the Wand

Listener Joe Tortoricci wrote in “I know there has been some discussion around what is going to happen to the Leave A Legacy tiles and I recently contacted Disney and received the following response:”

‘I am proud to say that Leave A Legacy will remain part of Epcot for many more years to come. The sculpture garden will continue to welcome guests to Epcot until Leave A Legacy’s 20th anniversary in the year 2020. Guests can continue to visit the Leave a Legacy Locator station, which will be relocated to the Camera Center underneath Spaceship Earth, for assistance in locating their tile(s).

We have received many requests for guests to be sent their tiles once they are removed. Unfortunately we are unable to send the tiles out to our guests who have left a Legacy, this is because the panel in which yours is attached is actually made up of about 350 other guest’s tiles as well.

We are currently offering a new product for our Domestic U.S. Leave a Legacy guests. We are able to take your Leave a Legacy photo/text message and have it engraved on three different types of granite tiles. We offer a set of 4 coasters, a 5×7 with wooden stand, or an 8 1/2 x 11 tile with a metal stand.

The pricing is as follows:

Set of 4 Coasters with Rubber Soles: $60, plus $6.50 Shipping and Handling

5×7 with Wood Stand: $60, plus $6.50 Shipping and Handling

8 1/2×11 with Rod-Iron Stand: $120, plus $9 Shipping and Handling

If you are interested in the granite products, please email me and I will be more then happy to give you the information necessary to make an order. I hope this information helps! Thank you again for taking part in the Leave A Legacy program.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact me at 407-560-7235 or by e-mail at wdw.ec.legacy@disney.comThank you and have a magical evening!!!’

Thank you Joe for that information!

Next year Disney will move the Night of Joy Christian music festival from the Magic Kingdom to Disney’s Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM). The 2008 event will be held September 5-6, 2008. Musical artists already confirmed for the 2008 event are MercyMe, tobyMac, Chris Tomlin and Rush of Fools. Stay tuned.

In the wake of the recent Pin Celebration earlier this month, Walt Disney World has announced two new events which will be taking place next year. The first event, Expedition:PINS, will take place at Animal Kingdom on May 3, 2008. The second event will be the annual event for Epcot from September 5-7, 2008 and will be called PTU: School of Trading.

Finally, the big news this week is that the Haunted Mansion opened after its lengthy refurbishment to HUGE lines and incredibly rave reviews. Now, so as not to spoil the attraction and surprises for you, I’ve chosen to not reveal in detail what changes and additions are in place, but I did receive a number of reviews and reports live from the parks from a number of listeners about the attraction and experience on the HM’s opening day. You can hear the voicemails on this week’s WDW Radio Show– warning, some spoilers may be included.

If you have any news to report, email Lou at Lou@wdwradio.comor leave a voicemail at the WDW Radio Show voicemail box: 206-202-4WDW (4939).
